The invention relates to a thermal management device (4) for a rechargeable electric battery (2) of an electric and/or hybrid vehicle (1); said heat management device (4) comprises at least one regulating means (6) for regulating the temperature of the electric battery (2), a control module (8) configured so as to provide at least one control command (A) of the temperature to the regulating means (6); the thermal management device (4) further comprises a communication member (10) configured so as to communicate with a navigation system (12) and to acquire events (E) from the navigation system (12) with regard to a predetermined itinerary; the thermal management device being characterised in that the communication member (10) is configured so as to acquire at least one event (E) relating to a relief present on the predetermined itinerary and to transmit it to the control module (8), the control module (8) being configured so as to generate at least one control command (A) destined for the regulating means (6) so as to regulate the temperature of the electric battery (2) according to said event (E) relating to a relief.
