PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit reduction of supercharging pressure while dropping intake air temperature in an engine with a supercharger.
SOLUTION: Pressure of air near a connection point of a branched channel 20 is rapidly reduced by opening a branched channel valve 22 connecting an intake air passage 8 and an pressure accumulation tank 21. Negative pressure wave which is local minimum section of intake pressure pulsating in connection with this is made to reach a combustion chamber 2 during valve open period of an intake valve 11. Intake air temperature can be dropped by reduction of intake air pressure. Since reduction of supercharging pressure is inhibited during the valve close when valve open and valve close of the branched channel valve 22 are executed at least one time each during one combustion cycle, reduction of supercharging pressure can be inhibited as a whole.
