摘要： The invention pertains to a process for preparing an activated catalyst, to the activated catalyst composition and the use thereof in the conversion of hydrocarbon feedstocks, such as isomerisation. The catalyst composition comprising a Group VIII noble metal and a hydrocarbon-substituted aluminium compound on an alumina carrier is activated by contacting it with an inert gas in the absence of hydrogen at a temperature above 400 DEG C, wherein at least when the hydrocarbon-susbtituted aluminium compound is a non-halide hydrocarbon-substituted aluminium compound, the catalyst composition is contacted with a halogen-containing gas either prior to the treatment with the inert gas or during the treatment with the inert gas, and subsequently cooling down the activated catalyst to ambient temperature in an inert gas optionally containing hydrogen or containing, at a temperature below 400 DEG C, a halogen-containing gas; or if a halogen-containing gas is present during the treatment with the inert gas, alternatively cooling down in a mixture of an inert gas, a halogen-containing gas, and, optionally, hydrogen.

摘要： This invention relates to a new synthetic porous crystalline material, designated MCM-68, a method and novel polycyclic organic cation for its preparation and its use in catalytic conversion of organic compounds. The new crystalline material exhibits a distinctive X-ray diffraction pattern and has a unique crystal structure which contains at least one channel system, in which each channel is defined by a 12-membered ring of tetrahedrally coordinated atoms, and at least two further, independent channel systems, in each of which each channel is defined by a 10-membered ring of tetrahedrally coordinated atoms, wherein the number of unique 10-membered ring channels is twice the number of 12-membered ring channels.

摘要： This disclosure relates to alkylation processes. The process involves providing two or more reaction zones disposed in sequence. In at least the first two reaction zones, olefin mixture comprising C3 and C4 olefins is contacted with isoparaffin comprising isobutane in the presence of sulfuric acid solution under effective alkylation conditions to produce a product mixture comprising spent acid solution and alkylate product, wherein the molar ratio of C3 to C4 olefins in the olefin mixture decreases in each subsequent reaction zone. In the process, the sulfuric acid solution present in a reaction zone contains the spent acid solution produced in the immediately preceding reaction zone.
