    • A high speed linear bagging machine (10) and its method of operation is described. An infeed and discharge conveyor (11, 12) is provided with a synchronized drive and a reciprocating linear bagger (15) is displaced on a straight stator slide (16) with the forward and rearward stroke of the linear bagger being preadjusted and programmed to the speed of the infeed conveyor and to the location of a bagging station (14). The reciprocating linear bagger (15) is provided with a product receptacle (24) as well as with a pair of bag engaging scoops (27, 33) to engage an open end (39) of a bag (40) and to further stretch the bag to provide positive engagement thereof. In the return stroke the bag is pulled over the product (14) while the product is being held stationary by a blockade device (42). The bagged product is discharged in the return stroke of the reciprocating linear bagger. The tension applied to the open end of the bag is also programmed in a control unit (18) and this provides for a completely integrated computerized control system.

    • The invention relates to a bread-packaging device for packaging a single sliced loaf of bread. The bread-packaging device comprises a conveying unit (1) which can be connected or attached to a bread-slicing device (200). The conveying unit (1) is configured to receive a single sliced loaf from the bread-slicing device (200). The bread-packaging device also comprises a packaging unit (3) which is connected to the conveying unit (1) in such a way that a passage (4) for the single sliced loaf is formed between the conveying unit (1) and the packaging unit (3). Furthermore, the conveying unit is configured for conveying the received single sliced loaf to the packaging unit (3) via the passage (4). The packaging unit (3) is configured for packaging the single sliced loaf received from the conveying unit in a bag. The packaging unit comprises bag-opening means (21) which can be brought to a first position for receiving a bag, and which can be brought to a second position by a user in order to open the bag, with an opening of the bag being situated in front of the passage.

    • An installation for slicing whole loaves and packaging each sliced loaf in its entirety or in halves after splitting of the loaf that has been sliced in its entirety. The installation comprises a slicing device (1) for slicing whole loaves (3), and a packaging device which is disposed downstream of the slicing device(1) and is suitable both for packaging a sliced loaf in its entirety (3) and for packaging sliced half loaves (3a, 3b). Splitting means (15) are disposed downstream of the slicing device (1), for splitting a sliced whole loaf into a first and a second half. Adjacent and separate first and second conveyor paths (30, 31) are provided between the slicing device (1) and the packaging device (5), for conveying the first half (3a) and the second half (3b) respectively of a sliced loaf.
