摘要： Devices and methods are disclosed for the centrifugal casting of spheres, particularly hollow spheres containing low air pressure, as well as solid and hollow spheres having a gradient internal density. Molten or self-hardening casting material is introduced into a hollow spherical mold and the mold made to rotate about two axes intersecting at the center of the mold. The resulting centrifugal forces cause the casting material to be evenly distributed about the inner surface of the mold. If a mixture of casting materials of different densities is used, the densest material will settle closer to the walls of the mold, while less dense materials will move closer to the center. The casting material is hardened and the resulting sphere is removed from the mold.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a fluid reservoir (10) includes at least the steps of providing a double-skinned mould for forming inner and outer shells (14.1 and 14.2) of the fluid reservoir (10), introducing a thermoplastic material into a cavity (16) defined between the two skins of the mould and sealing the mould. The mould and thereby the thermoplastic material is then heated to about 260 °C whilst being subjected to vertical and horizontal rotation. Once the thermoplastic material has coated the surfaces of the mould, the mould is permitted to cool gradually after which the inner and outer shells (14.1 and 14.2) are removed from the mould.

摘要： The polyethylene caulking composition of the invention is a mixture of a carrier and binder component and polyethylene powder. The carrier and binder component is a liquid hydrocarbon oil. The polymer is finely subdivided polyethylene, preferably ultra high molecular weight, having a low melt index, no greater than 30. The composition is thixotropic with a consistency of toothpaste, typically having a stirred viscosity up to 30,000 centipoise at ambient temperature, which is suitable for use as a caulking composition. The caulking composition of the invention can be extruded at low pressures through a caulking gun or from a squeeze tube to plug vent holes or perforations in molded, hollow-form polyethylene parts, or applied as a caulk onto the flange surfaces of rotational molds.

摘要： A method for forming a three dimensional polymeric structure includes providing at least one paint layer and providing a bonding layer coupled to the at least one paint layer to form an insert having a bonding surface provided by the bonding layer. A mold having a hollow interior bounded by an interior surface is further provided. The insert is positioned within the interior along a portion of the interior surface. At least one charge of thermoplastic material is deposited into the interior. The interior is heated while the mold is rotated and rocked. As a result, the thermoplastic material melts and is deposited against the interior surface of the mold and against the bonding surface of the insert to form a three dimensional structure within the interior. The three dimensional structure is then removed from the interior of the mold.
