    • A parking meter system (10) consisting of a cylindrical housing (12) having an upper section (14) for a driver assistance display (18), control buttons (20), payment means (30) and a time display (24). The housing is located adjacent a plurality of parking spaces and a single parking meter mechanism (23) is mounted within the housing (12) for controlling parking for each of the plurality of spaces. A separate enforcement display (36) is located on the street side of the housing (12) so that an enforcement officer can observe the compliance status without leaving his vehicle. The housing (12) also supports a coin collection canister (42) in a lower section (16) thereof and access doors (32, 40) are provided for both the upper and lower housing sections (14, 16) for ease of servicing. The contours of the doors (32, 40) preserves the cylindrical housing shape when the doors (32, 40) are closed.

    • Coin sensor system for automatic vending machines, used preferably in all automatic machines and apparatus which are operated by inserting coins and which are power supplied by batteries. The sensor system comprises a metal body (3) integral with the structure of the selector (1) arranged in relation to the introductory slot of coins into the selector wherein the coins bump into each other. Sensor means are provided to detect the mechanical vibrations of the collisions or impacts of coins with the metal part in order to transform such mechanical vibration into an electric vibration, means for cleaning the square wave provided by the comparator, means for activating the switch for supplying power to the electronic coin control and measuring system, and means for desactivating the power supply switch to the electronic control and measuring system.

    • A system and method for determining whether a coin or other valuable object is authentic is presented. In one configuration a method for validating a valuable object includes attaching a validation device to the valuable object. The validation device is loaded with validation information associated with the valuable object. Later, when the when the object is to be sold or transferred to another person the validation device is wirelessly read to extract the validation information associated with the valuable object. This information used to verify if the valuable object is authentic or is not authentic, based, at least in part, the validation information associated with the valuable object.
