摘要： A system for providing simulated three-dimensional viewing from a conventional movie screen, television, or computer monitor which enables the viewer to select either two-dimensional or three-dimensional viewing. The system comprises a video projector (20), a prism (30), a pair of optical filters, a reflecting mirror (50), and a viewing screen (60). The prism separates projected light from the source into two separate images. A film of polarized material is placed proximate to the prism so that the two images are linearly polarized orthogonally to one another. The two images are then directed to a mirror that is preferably polarized and then directed to a video screen. A pair of glasses containing lenses having polarizers parallel to the polarizations of respective images are provided.

摘要： A method and apparatus are described for monitoring frame alignment status and correcting misalignment for film (500) in a stereoscopic 3D projection system, in which gap indicia (530, 531, 532; 540, 541, 542) are provided onto the film in a gap (521; 522) between images, whether the images (L1, R1; L2, R2) belong to the same frame (111, 112) or different adjacent frames (112, 113). Thus, gap indicia are positioned in at least one of an interframe gap (522) and an intraframe gap (521) of the stereoscopic film (500). During projection of the film, presence or absence of the gap indicia is used to determine a frame alignment status. Frame misalignment is then easily diagnosed and corrected. Characteristics of the gap indicia are modified for improving frame alignment diagnosis.

Light having a first state of polarization is arranged to pass through the lenticular element array without substantial lent icular element focusing, wherein the polarization state is transformed by the polarization conversion layer such that the reflected light has a second state of polarization arranged to pass through the lenticular element array with lent icular element focusing to provide multiple views.

摘要： The invention relates to a device for projecting a colour image onto a screen, comprising colour image recording means and colour image reproducing means. The fidelity of the colour reproduction is improved compared to existing techniques. The inventive device records two images that separately cover the short and long wave parts of the individual primary colour spectral regions in parallel. When the image is reproduced, six reference stimuli are generated, each reference stimulus containing the image information for the short- and long-wave part of each primary colour spectral region. The device ensures full colour, stereoscopic image reproduction in a modified form: the three reference stimuli of the respective short wave part codes a stereoscopic frame and the three reference stimuli of the respective long wave part code the other stereoscopic frame.
