摘要： A utility knife includes a housing with multiple interior spaces, each for holding a utility blade slidably therein. A U-shaped spring-clip has two ends rotationally fixed with the housing. A catch section of the spring clip traverses a retention slot formed in the housing. The spring clip may be pushed from an inward position into an outward position to allow the utility blade to pass from the interior space out through a slot to exit an end of the housing. When the spring clip is released with a retaining notch of the utility blade aligned with the retention slot, the retaining clip engages the retaining notch to capture the utility blade in a deployed position. Preferably the housing comprises several thin metal plates stacked together and fastened with a plurality of mechanical fasteners.

摘要： A tactical knife assembly connectable to the handgrip of a pistol for close quarter combat. A hilt having a tang slot is attached to the butt end of a pistol grip. A knife blade includes a tang that slides into the tang slot and is automatically secured for use by a spring- loaded lock switch. A core plug in the tang slot holds the lock switch in an unlocked position when the knife blade is uncoupled from the hilt. In use, the knife blade is carried in a sheath until needed. While holding the pistol, a user moves the pistol so that the hilt envelops the exposed tang, automatically self-locking the tang to the hilt. The user then lifts the pistol away from the sheath to withdraw the knife blade. A universal mounting rail or other tool can be substituted for the knife blade.

摘要： A utility knife has a receiving cavity which opens through the body. A cartridge comprising a magazine of blades is removably insertable into the receiving cavity. A carrier within the body is manually operable for receiving a blade from the cartridge and positioning the blade for extension through the opening to present a cutting edge. The cartridge may be released from the utility knife body by depressing a button and withdrawing the cartridge. The cartridge is releasably held in place within the knife body and releasable when the blade carrier is in its retracted position and the release button is depressed. When the thumb button moves the blade carrier into its extended position to expose the knife blade, the cartridge is rendered unreleaseable even if the release button is depressed. The release button, which will enable removal of the magazine when depressed and blade carrier is in its retracted position, also serves to release of the blade from the blade carrier to permit removal of a used blade from the knife body when the blade carrier is in its extended position.
