摘要： A rotating machine assembly includes a rotating machine that has a cover that defines an outer surface of the rotating machine and a stator disposed within the cover. The stator is stationary with respect to the cover. The rotating machine also includes a shaft rotatably disposed at least partially within the cover so as to define a rotation axis. 摘要： An integrated bleed air and engine starting system for an engine utilizes a flow multiplier air turbine starter to provide bleed air supply to an ECS as well as starting an engine. The system includes an air turbine starter subsystem and an air flow subsystem. Also provided is a gear coupled to a gearbox which links the engine with a shaft, as well as a variable nozzle valve intermediate the turbine and engine. 摘要： An air turbine starter (20) containing a liquid lubricant (50) is provided with a passive hydraulic capacitor (60) which is charged by operation of the starter. Charging the capacitor partially drains the lubricant reservoir contained in the starter. This partial drainage decreases drag on internal, rotating components (112) of the starter, thereby decreasing parasitic loss in output torque. The capacitor discharges the lubricant back into the starter when the latter discontinues running, thereby satisfying lubrication requirements of an internal overrunning clutch (46).
