摘要： In the suction and exhaust passages (7, 7', 8, 8'; 107, 108) communicated with a combustion chamber (6; 106) in an internal combustion engine (1; 101), rotary suction and exhaust valves (10, 10'; 20; 110, 110', 120; 210, 210') which are capable of opening and closing these suction and exhaust passages are provided, repectively. These rotary valves have spherical valve bodies (13, 13', 23; 113, 113', 123; 213, 213'), and the driving shafts (34, 36; 134; 234) of a valve driving mechanism (30), which is adapted to rotate the valve bodies in accordance with the movement of a piston (5; 105) in the internal combustion engine (1; 101), are joined to the valve bodies via connecting members (17, 18; 117, 118; 217, 218). In the case where a plurality of rotary suction valves and a plurality of rotary exhaust valves are provided, the valve bodies of the former valves and those of the latter valves are also joined to each other, respectively, via connecting members.

摘要： An internal combustion engine comprises cylinders, either separate or arranged in rows, for each cylinder a rotary control element for controlling the interchange of gases arranged between the cylinder block (64) and the cylinder cover (53) and having an axis of rotation perpendicular the axes of the cylinders, and a control device (11) arranged between two trunnions (11a, 11b) extending in the direction of the axis of rotation, the said control device (11) being secured to one of the trunnions. Counter surfaces of the cylinder head having the same configuration as the control device and the trunnions surround the control device and the trunnion. Through each trunnion passes an axial gas channel (12, 13) arranged in the control device and opening on to the surface of a curved gas channel. Means are provided for transmitting the rotary movement of the crankshaft to the control device, which has a spherical shape. This internal combustion engine is a diesel engine having a fuel injection device the nozzle holder (6) of which is mounted in the ball of the rotary distributor (11).

摘要： Five essential components (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) enable to coordinate the four strokes of the engine, by combining the gas distribution and tightness in the combustion chamber to the alternating motion of the piston. A rotory distribution shaft (1) synchronized with the engine crankshaft is provided with intake (8) and exhaust (7) orifices with outlets in the spherical surface (6) which communicate with the cylinder at the corresponding strokes. Orifices which are not intercommunicated are made to coincide with the intake and exhaust ports to the outside. A closing bush (2) in intermittent and sliding and compensated contact on the spherical surface (6), and a conical spring (3) make the combustion chamber fluid-tight during the compression and expansion strokes, and conduct through the orifice (9) in the lower body (4) the intake and exhaust gas at each corresponding stroke. A lower body (4) and an upper body (5) house all the above-mentioned components forming the cylinder head assembly.
