    • The present disclosure describes a moment frame system with second moment frame connected vertically above a first moment frame. The first moment frame includes a first horizontal beam, a second horizontal beam, and a first vertical column connected to a first ISO comer. To assist in earthquake resistance, the first moment frame includes a first continuity plate provided horizontally within the first vertical column at a preset distance from the first ISO comer. In some instances, the first continuity plate is skewed from horizontal. The second moment frame includes a third horizontal beam, a fourth horizontal beam, and a second vertical column connected to a second ISO corner. To further assist in earthquake resistance, the second moment frame includes a second continuity plate provided horizontally within the second vertical column at a preset distance from the second ISO corner. In some instances, the second continuity plate is skewed from horizontal.
