摘要： A method for making a solid catalyst component for use in a Ziegler-Natta catalyst includes combining a porous particulate support with a magnesium source in a hydrocarbon solvent to form a mixture, the magnesium source including a hydrocarbon soluble organomagnesium compound and a hydrocarbon insoluble anhydrous inorganic magnesium halogen compound. The organomagnesium compound is halogenated and the mixture is reacted with a titanium compound or vanadium compound to form the solid catalyst component. The solid catalyst component is then recovered and combined with an organoaluminum cocatalyst to form a Ziegler-Natta catalyst which is advantageously used for the polymerization of olefins, particularly alk-l-enes such as ethylene, propylene, 1-butene, and the like. The catalyst can optionally include internal and external electron donors.

摘要： This invention relates to supported metallocene catalyst compositions useful for addition reactions of prochiral alpha -olefins. Polymers, specifically propylene polymers, produced with this catalyst possess higher stereoregularities and consequently higher melting points compared to propylene polymers produced using previously known supported metallocene catalysts. The microstructure of the polymers obtained using the supported catalyst systems of this invention is similar to that obtained using analogous unsupported catalysts. The catalyst compositions comprise transition metal (i.e., metallocene) cations and anionic activators in prescribed ratios on metal oxide supports.

摘要： A dual reactor process for the solution (co)polymerization of ethylene uses a catalyst having a phosphinimine ligand in each of the two reactors. In a preferred embodiment, the two reactors are operated at different temperatures and/or with different cocatalyst systems (such as "alumoxanes" and "ionic activators") for the preparation of linear low density polyethylene ("LLDPE") having a broad molecular weight distribution. Certain LLDPE polymers of this invention have an outstanding balance of physical properties (high dart impact strength and tear strength) excellent optical properties and excellent processability.
