The abutment elements (6) are mounted on displacing devices (5) disposed transversely to the endless path (4) and moveable around said path, and the displacing devices (5) are adapted to displace the abutments (6) transversely to movement around said path and in the longitudinal direction of said timber pieces so as to also move said timber pieces (2) in the direction of their longitudinal axes.
