    • The invention is directed to methods of providing backwash processes for a synthetic compressible medium filter system. More specifically, the system may include a backwash pump and air blower, and the processes may include at least three sequences of: air and water wash; air purge; and medium compression. The backwash process may be triggered by one or more of a pressure, time point, and/or turbidity set point. The air and water wash sequence may include breaking and washing the medium. The air purge sequence may include removing substantially all of the air entrapped in the medium by providing a backwash water flow for a period of time; and a medium compression sequence compressing the medium while avoiding exposing the medium to air, including introducing raw water and where the backwash and raw water provide enough energy to compress the medium without introduction of air into the medium.

    • The present invention relates to a filtering and drying apparatus for slurry and resource recycling. The filtering and drying apparatus for slurry and resource recycling of the present invention comprises: a processing container; a rotating drum; a driving device; a scraper; a hot air drying device; a drum washing device; an aerating device; and a fine filtering and separating device. The processing container is configured to have: an interior formed in the shape of an empty container; a supplying pipe at one end thereof and to which a supplying pump is connected so as to introduce raw water therein; a discharging pipe at the other end thereof and to which a discharging pump is connected so as to discharge processed water outward; a cover installed on the upper portion thereof; a detecting sensor for detecting the water level of the raw water installed on the inner wall surface thereof; and a rotating shaft installed through the sidewall thereof. The rotating drum, which has fine holes formed in the outer periphery thereof and a processed water storage space formed therein, is formed of a diatomaceous earth and PVDF material in a cylindrical shape, has a lower portion installed to be lockable inside the processing container, has a wall surface on one side connected to rotate with the rotating shaft of the processing container, and has the discharging pipe passing through the wall surface on the other side and connected to the processed water storage space within. The driving device is connected to the rotating shaft and installed on the outside of the processing container, and is configured to rotate the rotating shaft. The scraper has one end at one side thereof fixed at a position on the upper portion of the detecting sensor on the inner wall of the processing container, and has the end at the other side thereof configured to contact the outer periphery of the rotating drum so as to remove foreign substances on the surface of the rotating drum from the rotating drum. The hot air drying device is installed on the upper portion of the processing container, and supplies hot air to the surface of the rotating drum exposed above the raw water inside the processing drum so as to dry the surface of the rotating drum. The drum washing device is installed on the upper portion of the processing container, and has a plurality of washing nozzles installed thereon to supply washing water to the surface of the rotating drum exposed above the raw water inside the processing container. The aerating device is installed on the floor surface of the processing container, has a plurality of air supplying nozzles installed on the bottom portion thereof, and receives air from the outside to supply the air to the floor of the processing container so as to agitate the raw water inside the processing container. The fine filtering and separating device, which has one side thereof connected to the discharging pipe so that the processed water which has been filtered and processed in the processing container is supplied and stored therein, has a processed water outlet installed on the other side thereof through which processed water is discharged, and has a vacuum pump connected to the upper portion thereof. According to the present invention, because a portion of the rotating drum has the cover installed on the upper portion of the locked processing container, sludge is prevented from descending around the equipment to contaminate the surroundings; and because the hot air drying device is installed in connection to the cover to supply hot air to the surface at the lower portion of the rotating drum, the surface of the rotating drum rotating above the water surface in the processing container and reaching the scraper is heated and dried by the hot air, whereupon the sludge on the surface is also heated and dried so as to be easily dislodged from the surface of the rotating drum; and because the sludge is dried and processed, the sludge can be conveniently recycled without the need for separate post-drying equipment for sludge recycling.
