Die Vorrichtung ist mit an eine Fluidversorgung (5) angeschlossenen, im Bereich mindestens eines Längenabschnitts einer Grenze des Areals angeordneten Düsen (4) ausgestattet, die im Fall der Störung jeweils einen bodennah beginnenden, in die Höhe gerichteten Fluidstrahl (W) abgeben und in einem derart bemessenen Abstand (A) voneinander positioniert sind, dass sich durch die Überlagerung der von den Düsen (4) jeweils abgegebenen Fluidstrahlen (W) an jeder Stelle des Längenabschnitts eine vom Boden (9) des Areals ausgehende, im wesentlichen senkrecht zum Boden (9) gerichtete, das bodennah strömende Gas (G) mitreißende Luft-Gas-Strömung (F,G) einstellt wobei die Düsen (4) in einem entlang des Längenabschnitts ausgebildeten Kanal (2) mit vertikalem Abstand (T) zu dessen Austrittsöffnung angeordnet sind.
