    • The invention relates to a latch closure for walls, doors and shutters which are joined to frames, enclosures or the like by means of hinges. The frame, enclosure, door or wall surfaces which are joined to one another by hinges are essentially flush with one another when in a closed position. The inventive closure is comprised of a first closure housing (12) which can be fastened to the frame or the like and which has a rear-engaging element (14) for receiving the latch (16) of the latch closure (10) in a latching manner. The closure also comprises a second closure housing (18) which can be fastened to the door or the like. The latch (16) is arranged in said second closure housing such that it can be displaced against spring force by means of a handle (58). According to the invention, the second closure housing (18) forms a projection (40) that, when the door is closed, rests on a parallel front face (44) which is essentially parallel to the door plane (42) and which is formed by the first closure housing (12).

    • A mechanism for selectively coupling a first moving part with a second moving part. The mechanism includes and engaging member that is movable between a detent position, a uncoupled position, and a coupled position in which the load transferring surface is within the aperture. A biasing member biases the engaging member into the detent position or coupled position. The engaging member overrides the biasing force and moves out of the detent position into the uncoupled position when first and second moving parts move relative to each other. When the engaging member is in the coupled position, the first and second moving parts are coupled for movement together. One embodiment of the invention is a child safety door handle rotating on a spindle. Other embodiments include water faucets, stove or burner controls, or any other rotatable or movable parts.

    • A latch assembly for insertion into an edge of a door and adjustable for actuation by a half-round spindle at either a first backset or a second backset. The latch has an inner casing non-rotatably received within an outer casing and slideable along an axis. The inner casing is provided with a transverse void substantially perpendicular to the sliding axis and is slideable between a first position and a second position, aligning with the first backset and the second backset, respectively. A slide within the casing is, without adjustment, engageable by the half-round spindle at either backset.     • The invention relates to an electric door-locking system to be applied to at least one electric door body that is movable in a sliding manner, comprising: forwardly and reversely rotatable screws disposed side by side along a direction in which the electric door body slides at the side of a door frame; a cam assembly provided at a predetermined position of the screws to perform a locking function and an unlocking function; and a sliding unit provided with a locking roller resiliently biased in a direction toward the cam assembly and engaging with the cam assembly to perform the locking function, one end of the sliding unit being rotatably connected to the screw and the other end of the sliding unit being connected to the electric door body. According to the present invention, even with an uncomplicated and simple structure, the electric door-locking system can ensure the reliability of the locking function thereof, and reduce the danger of failure and malfunction, and further, reduces costs as compared to the prior art due to the ease of manufacture, maintenance, and repair thereof.
