    • A gas-barrier synthetic resin vessel (10) comprises an opening (12) having a flange (12A), a trunk portion (14) extending therefrom, and a bottom (16) closing the trunk portion (14). The vessel (10) is a wide-mouthed vessel in which the minimum inner diameter Dmin of the opening (12) is greater than the maximum inner diameter Dmax of the trunk portion. Alternatively, the vessel (10) is a wide-mouthed vessel in which the minimum inner diameter Dmin of the opening (12) is smaller than the maximum inner diameter Dmax of the trunk portion, with the difference not exceeding 20 mm. Diamond-like carbon films (18) are formed on the outer wall of the trunk portion (14) and bottom (16) of this vessel (10). After contents have been filled in this vessel (10), a metal can cover (20) is double wound around the flange (12A), whereby a high gas barrier is secured for the whole can.
