    • This disclosure provides a circuit for linearizing an output signal Sout produced by a non-linear component based on an input signal x(n). The circuit comprises a primary pre-distorter module configured to generate a pre-distorted signal y(n) based on the input signal x(n) and a primary pre-distortion function parameterized by a pre-distortion parameter λ and to feed the pre-distorted signal y(n) to the non-linear component. The circuit comprises an estimation module. The estimation module is configured to receive samples z(n) of the output signal Sout, and to determine the pre-distortion parameter λ. The estimation module comprises a secondary pre-distorter module configured to generate a secondary pre-distorter output signal r(n) based on a secondary pre-distortion function and the samples z(n) of the output signal Sout. The secondary pre-distorter module is configured to determine the pre-distortion parameter λ based on a previously determined pre-distortion parameter stored on a data storage, the secondary pre-distorter output signal r(n) and the pre-distorted signal y(n) provided by the primary pre-distorted module. The determining comprises correlating the input signal x(n) with an error signal between the pre-distorted signal y(n) and the secondary pre-distorter output signal r(n).

    • A method, carried out by a gateway transmitter (400), aims at compensating the nonlinearities of a communication channel (500) comprising a repeater (510). A plurality of digital signals is modulated (s10) on a plurality of carriers, wherein symbols of the constellation diagram used for modulation of each carrier are distorted in accordance with a pre-distortion function. The modulated signals are then frequency division multiplexed (s20), and sent (s30) for transmission, through the communication channel (500), to at least one receiver (600). The pre-distortion function involves a plurality of polynomial functions, each of which taking as input the symbols from all the carriers. The polynomial functions' coefficients, called "pre-distortion coefficients", are computed according to a direct learning approach, performed jointly for the plurality of carriers. The pre-distortion coefficients are iteratively updated based on received signals being fed back from a receiver (600). The invention also relates to transmitters and computer programs.

    • A configurable pre-emphasis filter component may be configured based upon measured frequency response (e.g., filter effect) associated with at least one analog filter positioned between a digital predistortion component and a power amplification component of a transmission circuitry. The frequency response may be measured using a calibration signal sent via the transmission circuitry, a loopback circuit, and a reception circuitry. Calibration circuitry may be used with one or more loopback circuits to measure the frequency response of various analog components of the transmission circuitry. The calibration circuitry may also include logic to determine a configuration for the PEF component based upon the measured frequency response.

    • Systems and methods for radio frequency digital predistortion in a multiband transmitter (72) are disclosed. In one embodiment, the multi-band transmitter includes a digital upconversion system (76) configured to digitally upconvert digital input signals to provide digital radio frequency signals. Each digital input signal and thus each digital radio frequency signal corresponds to a different band of a multi-band transmit signal to be transmitted by the multi-band transmitter (72). The multi-band transmitter (72) also includes a radio frequency digital predistortion system configured to digitally predistort the digital radio frequency signals to provide predistorted digital radio frequency signals, and a combiner (80) configured to combine the predistorted digital radio frequency signals to provide a multi-band predistorted digital radio frequency signal.
