The scheme, proposed in this document, can be used in any transmission based on no differential modulation. For example the proposed scheme can be directly applied to a transmission on flat fading AWGN channels or to a transmission on frequency selective channels after equalization or on each sub-carrier of an OFDM System. The proposed solution can be applied for the demapping of any communication system. The proposed scheme can be used for rotated and un-rotated constellation.

The method for transmitting the broadcasting signal comprises the following steps: generating a plurality of PLPs by dividing an input stream, which includes a broadcasting service, into a plurality of components, based on a packet identifier, and generating first signaling information and second signaling information, which include signaling information for identifying the plurality of PLPs; FEC encoding and bit interleaving the plurality of PLPs, the first signaling information, and the second signaling information; controlling the output order of bits of the plurality of bit interleaved PLPs, the first signaling information, and the second signaling information; symbol mapping the inputted bits having the output order controlled; generating a transmission frame, which includes the plurality of symbol mapped PLPs, the first signaling information, and the second signaling information; and modulating the transmission frame and transmitting the broadcasting signal, which includes the modulated transmission frame. One of the plurality of PLPs includes a program number that corresponds to the broadcasting service, PLP identifying information for identifying each of the PLPs, and a program map table, which is signaled with component type information, which instructs a component type included in each of the PLPs.

摘要： A system for processing wireless high definition video data to be transmitted in an uncompressed format over a wireless medium is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes i) a Reed Solomon (RS) encoder configured to encode a video data stream, ii) a parser configured to parse the RS encoded data stream into a plurality of sub-video data streams, iii) a plurality of convolutional encoders configured to encode in parallel the plurality of sub-video data streams so as to create a plurality of encoded data streams and iv) a multiplexer configured to input the plurality of encoded data streams and output a multiplexed data stream, wherein the multiplexed data stream is transmitted. One embodiment of the invention provides strong error protection for data communications at very high throughput, and makes parallel Viterbi decoding implementation easier at the receiver side.

摘要： First and second transmitters transmit signals communicating the same information, e.g., program segment, but at different times. Different carriers may, but need not be, used by the different transmitters. If a wireless terminal can not recover broadcast segment information from one carrier, the wireless terminal can switch to another transmitter and recover the information, e.g., on another carrier, since the broadcasts are intentionally offset in time. In some embodiments, the timing is offset such that a single channel receiver is able to recover signals corresponding to the same program segment from two sources, and perform a decoding and information recovery using input from both sources, where recovery using input from a single source is not possible. Symbol level timing synchronization of base stations is not required thereby allowing for simpler implementations and/or lower overhead, as compared to systems which require base stations to be synchronized to the symbol timing level.

摘要： A stream of modulation symbols from a zero symbol rate (ZSR) coding/modulation module and a stream of modulation symbols from another type of coding/modulation module are input into an interweaver module . The interweaver module mixes the two input streams when assigning modulation symbols to be communicated in a segment. If a ZSR modulation symbol is non-zero, the ZSR modulation symbol is allocated a transmission position. If the ZSR modulation symbol is a zero modulation symbol, the modulation symbol from the other coding/modulation module is allocated the transmission position. The non-zero modulation symbols from the ZSR module are higher in power than the non-zero modulation symbols from the other module, thus facilitating detection and recovery. An hybrid system combining the concepts of hierarchical coding and pulse position modulation is presented there.
