    • The invention relates to a receiver for a carrier-modulated signal containing digital information, comprising a demodulation device leading to at least one time-discrete signal at the output thereof and one decision element which is arranged downstream from the demodulation device. The decision element derives the digital information from the time-discrete data, taking into account a data-dependent noise fraction, (e.g. ISI) in the time-discrete signal by minimising data error probability. The demodulation device comprises at least one FM demodulator. Preferably, said device has at least one AM demodulator, whereby both time-discrete output signals are supplied to the decision element as data and digital information is derived from at least one of the output signals. Another quasi unavailabe secondary signal is used for reception in addition to the direct FM signal.
