    •  本発明に係るコイル電極蛍光放電灯管(1)は、コイル電極(3,4)が対向する位置のガラス管(2)内面にも蛍光膜(8)が形成され、前記ガラス管(2)の全長に亘って蛍光放電領域として利用でき、高照度で照明することができる。また、前記コイル電極(3,4)は電線(9)の周囲を絶縁層(10)により被覆した絶縁被覆電線を巻回状に形成されてなるので、電極用の前記電線(9)は前記絶縁層(10)を介して前記ガラス管(2)に巻き付けられ、前記電線(9)と前記ガラス管(2)の表面との間において放電現象が全く発生しない。従って、放電現象により形成されるピンホールにより蛍光放電灯管の寿命が短くならずに済み、蛍光放電灯管の長寿命化を図ることができる。更に、照明効率が劣化しないので長寿命となり、電力の効率的な消費により顕著な省電力化をも実現することができる。
