    • A fuse operation indicator assembly 40 includes an elongate tube 42 having first 44 and second 48 ends, a fuse striker receiving member 46 at the first end of the tube to receive a fuse striker (30), an actuating member (76) at the second end of the tube to be actuated responsive to the fuse striker member, and a detector 70, such as an electrical switch, to detect actuation of the actuating member. In a prefered embodiment the actuating member is displaced by a puff of air generated by the striker receiving member 46. Alternatively, an electrically insulating rod or cable (90) is slidably held in the tube 42 such that its end (92) contacts the switch actuator (76). In an alternative assembly, a light emitter is provide near the fuse striker receiving member 46, and light is transmitted through a flexible light-transmitting cable (94) to a light detector (99). When the fuse is blown, the striker receiving member 46 bends the cable (94), preventing light from being received at the detector (99).
