摘要： The present invention relates generally to global noise or sound control and, more particularly, to the control of sound radiated from stationary induction apparatus such as power transformers (1) and shunt reactors by use of active enclosures and active panels (6). The purpose of the invention is to markedly reduce the radiation of sound from the machine to all observation points in the surrounding field with a very lightweight, compact, non-airtight structure (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) which does not impair maintenance or repair of the machine.

摘要： An adaptive control system reducing undesired signals comprises a processor (36) which provides secondary signals for sources (37) for interference with the undesired signals. Sensors (42) measure the residual vibration which is indicative of the interference between the undesired and secondary signals. The processor (36) uses the residual signal to adjust the secondary signals to reduce the residual signals. Noise generation means (48) is provided to add a low level noise signal to the secondary signal and to provide a low level noise signal to the processor (36). The processor (36) is adapted to transform the low level noise signal and the residual signal from sensors (42) to provide the amplitude and phase of spectral components of the signals. The processor (36) modifies the secondary signals using these spectral components to obtain better reduction of the undesired signals.

摘要： A jet engine fan noise reduction system. The noise reduction system includes active noise control to suppress fan (15) tone noise of an airplane flyover noise signature. The active noise control includes microphones (1, 11) with acoustic transducers upstream and downstream of the engine fan (15) and fan exit guide vane (16) stage to sense control system errors. Control signals are derived from the fan angular speed or blade passing frequency and the error signal sensed by the acoustic transducers. The control output signals actuate (modulate) air control valves (45) on each side of the fan stage to direct conditioned (pressure and temperature regulated) high pressure primary air flow, thereby producing acoustic cancelling of fan tone noise.
