摘要： This invention relates to systems providing event triggered alerts. Previously, safety monitoring systems only provided an alert and recording of the triggering environment after the fact. Embodiments of the present system (200) use a continuously on audio and/or video input device (78, 80). A continuously on recording module (60) is coupled to the continuously on audio and/or video input device. A first general computing device (10) coupled to the continuously on recording module is configured to: demarcate audio and/or video data provided by the continuously on recording module with a pre-set time buffer. Then, detect a triggering event in the user's environment. After that, transmit the demarcated audio and/or video data with the pre-set time buffer, the transmitted demarcated audio and/or video data providing to a third party a recording of the user's environment at a pre-determined time prior to the triggering event.

摘要： In some embodiments, a personal possession management system using a short range Internet Protocol (IP) based Personal Area Network (PAN) comprises a master device MD to be worn or held by a user, and an IP based RFID electronic tag ET to be attached to or contained within a personal possession desired to be managed. The electronic tag ET has communicability with the master device. The master device MD is configured to allot an IP address to the electronic tag ET in a registration mode using IEEE 802.11 protocols and sends probes to the electronic tag ET. The electronic tag ET is configured to receive messages from the master device MD and respond accordingly. The master device MD alerts a user when the communicability between the master device MD and the electronic tag ET is disrupted in a monitoring mode.

The invention comprises one or more positioning devices (2), one or more localisers (1), one or more communication networks and one or more control centres (3). The localisers (1) and the positioning devices (2) comprise two or more communication interfaces and two or more positioning systems. The positioning devices (2) can calculate the position thereof using one of the positioning systems and send said position using one of the communication interfaces, thereby ensuring that the system functions if one of the positioning systems or one of the communication interfaces stops operating. The localisers can serve as nodes (4) and retransmit position-related data from a positioning device to a localiser requesting said information. Both the positioning devices and the localisers are mobile. In addition, the control centres can monitor the position of the positioning devices if necessary.

摘要： A system and method for locating objects such as people, pets, and personal articles is described. A transceiver is attached to the person, animal, or item to be tracked and a handheld locator device is employed to transmit a locator signal containing an address code to the transceiver. Upon receipt of a signal, the transceiver compares the address code contained in the locator signal with an address code stored in the transceiver. If the two codes are same, the transceiver sends a return signal back to the locator device. The locator device uses this return signal to determine the distance and/or direction of the transceiver from the user's location. The system allows a user to select from a multiple number of items to locate and allows multiple users to search for different articles within the same general area without interference.
