摘要： A system and method for automated operation of a camera system is disclosed. A positioning system moves the camera system to a field of view to search for objects or events of interest to track. If objects or events of interest are detected prior to the expiration of a dwell timer, the dwell timer is interrupted and tracking of the objects or events of interest is initiated. To prevent the security camera from being distracted indefinitely by unimportant objects, the positioning system changes the field of view of the security system upon expiration of a track timer. Alternatively, if the security camera does not identify an object to track prior to expiration of a dwell timer, then the positioning system changes the field of view of the camera system to search for other objects or events of interest.

摘要： A unified approach, a fusion technique, a space-time constraint, a methodology, and system architecture are provided. The unified approach is to fuse the outputs of monocular and stereo video trackers, RFID and localization systems and biometric identification systems. The fusion technique is provided that is based on the transformation of the sensory information from heterogeneous sources into a common coordinate system with rigorous uncertainties analysis to account for various sensor noises and ambiguities. The space-time constraint is used to fuse different sensor using the location and velocity information. Advantages include the ability to continuously track multiple humans with their identities in a large area. The methodology is general so that other sensors can be incorporated into the system. The system architecture is provided for the underlying real-time processing of the sensors.

摘要： In some embodiments, cameras (110) are configured to monitor critical civilian infrastructure, such as water supplies and nuclear reactors. The cameras are operatively connected to a central computer (120) or series of computers, and images captured by the cameras are transmitted to the central computer. After initially registering with the central computer, Guardians "log on" to a central website hosted by the central computer and monitor the images, thereby earning compensation. In one embodiment, images of "no- man" zones-areas where no humans or vehicles should be present or monitored- are sent to Guardians for a simple determination of whether or not a human exits in the picture. Site owners compensate the operator of the computer system for this monitoring service, and the operator in turn compensates Guardians based on, for example, (i) the amount of time spent monitoring, and/or (ii) the degree of a given Guardian's responsiveness to real or fabricated security breaches.

The invention is not intended to replace conventional alarm systems, but to provide its' own unique functional identity. The invention comprises components that, when installed, will function as a tamper proof device, whose components are packaged in a combination of at least one container, to facilitate remoteness, and substantially small for inconspicuous insertions, or surface mounting. The Access Annunciator is ideal for access doors, windows, filing cabinets, desk draws, closets, bottles, handbags, briefcases, envelopes, boxes and the like, and typically includes at least one light emitting diode, an optional numeric liquid crystal display, a timer, an alert signaling means, a resetting means, and optionally, a camera. The components act together to provide notification of illegal entry between the times of departure, and arrival, of authorized users of the enclosure or area, or provide an indication of unauthorized access to a room or to materials contained within an enclosure. A simpler security alert system is provided.

摘要： A system and method for generating a viewable video index for low bandwidth applications are provided. The exemplary aspects of the present invention solve the problems with the prior art systems by incorporating information for generating a viewable representation of the video data into the index, thus generating a viewable video index. The viewable video index contains information for generating a visual representation of moving objects in the video data, a visual representation of the background of the video capture area, i.e. the scene, a representation of the object trajectory, a representation of the object attributes, and a representation of detected events. The result is that the viewable video index may be transmitted to a low bandwidth application on a client device and may be used along with associated object and background models to generate a representation of the actual video data without requiring that the original video data itself be streamed to the client device.
