    • User-friendly modifications and restructuring of the data for many line terminating sets and/or system components and abrupt switching of relay operation to the new relay operation program. Central control unit with numerous processors (BP, CP, IOC) which over any half of a doubled bus system (B:CMY) have access to any halves of doubled main storage sections (CMY), the halves of which regularly store identical information. If the memories are not doubled, at least two different memories (LMY, AV) store identical information. During a special operating time individual processors (e.g. BP1, IOC1), a bus system half (e.g. B:CMY1) and several of the memory sections together with a memory of an address management unit (AV) are separated and connected to an autonomous special computer (O&M, BP1, IOC1, AV, B:CMY1, CMY1); in the rest, the previous relay operating program continues to work with the latter's memory sections. In the special computer the data/programs stored therein are modified. After re-unification of the special computer with the rest, the modified program can immediately control the relay operation, so that first only the earlier memory sections of the special computer control the relaying activity until the modified data are copied also into the corresponding other memory sections.
