摘要： In photographic processing apparatus, by-products are produced due to the chemical reactions which occur during the processing of photographic materials. It is known to remove some of these by-products in accordance with the area of photographic material processed and a knowledge of the average level of production of the by-products. This leads to inaccuracies in maintaining a fixed level of the by-products in the processing solutions. Described herein is a method of controlling a subsystem which removes by-products from the processing solutions by using data relating to the exposure given to a photographic material in the printing stage of the processing apparatus to calculate the amount of by-products produced so that they can be exactly removed from the processing solutions.

However, in low usage apparatus, there is no allowance for other losses which may occur, for example due to evaporation and/or oxidation. Described herein is a method of replenishing such processing solutions which allows for losses due to evaporation and/or oxidation. The method comprises determining a relationship between loss rates due to evaporation and/or oxidation, and water evaporation rate from the apparatus. It has been found that the relationship is substantially linear.

One cause of drift is incorrect replenishment of the chemicals used in the paper processor. In processing apparatus which utilise only small volumes of chemicals, drift can be caused by replenishment rates not matching the dye formed on the prints being processed, and an operator would need to take steps to adjust the processor. Described herein is an improved method of controlling the replenishment rate of chemicals in photographic processing apparatus. The method comprises deriving a control signal from the image to be exposed on to photographic material and using the derived signal to control the replenishment rate of the chemicals.

摘要： The invention concerns a method of treating effluents in order to eliminate the organic compounds. The method comprises a primary oxidation stage with hydrogen peroxide in an alkaline medium, a secondary oxidation stage in a neutral medium and a subsequent absorption stage. It is known to effect replenishment of chemicals in a paper processor by determining the amount of exposure given to the paper in the printing stage of such apparatus when copying an image on a film strip on to photographic paper, and using that information to calculate the amount of replenishment required to compensate exactly for the chemicals used up in processing that print. Described herein is a method of using data relating to the measured optical transmittance of an image on a film strip in the printing stage to control replenishment of the processing solutions in the film processing stage of the apparatus and also removal of image-dependent by-products produced in processing that film strip.

摘要： This invention relates to a method and apparatus for replenishing a processing fluid for performing processing such as development, bleaching, fixing, etc. of a photosensitive material which has been exposed to rays of light transmitting through an original document or original picture or by rays of light reflected by the original document or original picture. This invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining the replenishing quantity of a processing fluid and supplying it on the basis of at least one of the conditions including the image ratio and variable magnification when the photosensitive material is exposed, a mass processing condition which is set in accordance with the number of sheets of the photosensitive material to be processed, the shutdown time of the processing apparatus of the photosensitive material and the non-processing time of the apparatus for processing the photosensitive material during its operation. When the processing fluid is to be replenished, the replenishing quantity of this fluid is determined on the basis of the conditions described above that affect the replenishing quantity of the fluid. Accordingly, optimal processing conditions for the development, bleaching, fixing, etc. of a photosensitive material can be maintained and finish after processing can be made uniform. In this manner an excellent image can always be obtained.
