    • The present invention is a method for processing seismic data comprising acquiring seismic data using a sweep sequence including a plurality of cascaded sweep segments. The seismic data include a plurality of data segments and a listen time. The listen is combined with an initial data segment. The seismic data segments are phase shifted to a phase of a target data segment to be denoised ( i.e. removal of ambient, harmonic and coherent noise). A difference between the target data segment and the remaining data segments is determined. If the determined difference exceeds a predetermined threshold, data in the target data segment is replaced with data derived from the remaining data segments. The data segments may be stacked to form a new target data segment. The listen time is extracted from the initial data segment.

    • The invention relates to processing seismic data that includes signals from at least two sources (15,16,17) and typically three or four sources where source separation is necessary for geophysical analysis. Specifically, the present invention is a process for correcting data prior to inversion where the correction is provided to correct for the filtering effect of the earth. The earth is a non-homogenous seismic propagator that causes distortions of wavelets of seismic energy related to the source and receiver azimuth and offset that makes the identification of source specific data within the composite data harder to identify. Computing an earth response and correcting for the effects of the earth on the wavelets provides for more resolution and more clarity in the resulting data and better geophysical interpretation.

    • A method of processing seismic data, said seismic data having been obtained by: performing a plurality of sweeps, wherein each sweep comprises generating seismic signals in the earth (1) using a plurality of vibrators (4a-4d) by applying a pilot sweep waveform to each vibrator, each pilot sweep being a waveform of changing frequency; measuring the force applied to the earth by each vibrator to determine a measured force waveform; and measuring the seismic signals at one or more locations (5a-5e) remote from the vibrators; said method comprising: filtering the measured force waveform to remove harmonics of the pilot sweep and thus determining a filtered force waveform; generating an inversion operator from the filtered force waveform for each vibrator; and applying said inversion operator to the measured seismic signals to determine the contribution of each vibrator to the seismic signals.
