摘要： An apparatus and method for retrofitting existing solar collection panels with transparent thermal insulation facilitates upgrading existing conventional solar thermal panels with thermal insulation for the surface of the collection panel, with minimal effect on light transmission to the absorber. Use of a transparent thermal insulation panel improves the performance of an existing solar thermal panel, including, but not limited to increasing the output water temperature, operation at a lower level of solar radiation exposure, and reducing the minimum ambient operating temperature.

摘要： An assembly which is lightweight includes an interconnected array of PV modules, where each PV modules is defined in part by a module outer perimeter portion. This array is defined in part by an outer perimeter portion including an upper edge portion, side edge portions, and a lower edge portion. The array is secured to a sloped roof along at least one of the upper or lower edge portion of the array. The assembly further includes interlocking features along the module outer perimeter portion which distribute uplift forces to adjacent PV modules. Additionally included is at least one wind deflector located along the lower edge of the array and non-penetrating base feet disposed on the sloped roof supporting at least a portion of the array.

摘要： An apparatus and method for attaching photovoltaic solar panels to a roof system surface. Thin film flexible panels are attached using a hook and loop system in which either the hook or loop mateπal is attached to the underside of panel, and the other of the hook and loop material is attached the roof. Solar panels that are encased in a frame are attached using the hook and loop mateπal directly to the roof system structure, or to an intermediate structure, which is in turn attached to the roof system surface. The method also determines the amount of mated hook and loop mateπal that must be attached to each installed panel to ensure that the installed panels will be able to withstand the wind pressure uplift force required, and to ensure that in the event unexpected and excessive uplift force is ever encountered, the panels separate.

摘要： A solar water heater (1) is provided comprising, in an operative condition a thermally insulated box (2) having a translucent lid (3) and an optionally removable container (4) for water within the box (2) wherein the container (4) has a passage communicating with the interior thereof. The box (2) is arranged such that water contained within a container (4) positioned in it becomes heated by solar energy that passes through the translucent lid (3) in use. The container (2) is translucent and a heat absorbing panel or layer (11) is operatively present on the side of the container (4) remote from the translucent lid of the container (4). The container (4) may be a collapsible container such as a flexible transparent bag that may be formed as a lilo. Alternatively, the container (4) may be of a relatively rigid material and assume the form of at least one bottle having a capacity of from 1 to 5 litres each in a recess in an insulating insert.

摘要： An innovative, low-density, highly-insulating modular panel for use in many applications and industries. The panel consists of a frame and a "tube" or "pocket" of thin, low-density, lightweight material that has the capability of sufficiently stretching to surround the frame when the "tube" or "pocket" is pulled onto it. When fabricated, the "tube" or "pocket" panel covering was made slightly narrower than the frame. The "tube" or "pocket" is then secured along the previously open end or ends of the panel, where frame was inserted, by various fastening devices. The panel is durable and cost-effective for numerous uses. It has very good solar-control and insulating qualities. It also has usefulness as an improved windbreak panel, an improved noise- reduction panel, an improved hail and impact protection panel, a fall protection panel and, in some applications, an improved pollution-control panel.
