    • A system includes a ball valve. The ball valve includes a housing (15), a ball (20), and a first valve seat assembly. The housing (15) includes a chamber, a first fluid passage (28) intersecting the chamber, and a second fluid passage (30) intersecting the chamber. The ball (20) is disposed in the chamber and is configured to control fluid flow between the first and second fluid passages. The first valve seat assembly is disposed between the ball (20)n and the housing (15). The first valve seat assembly includes a first seat (40) configured to seat against the ball (20) both above and below a pressure threshold, and a second seat (42) configured to seat against the ball (20) only above the pressure threshold, wherein the second seat (42) has a coefficient of friction that is lower than the first seat (40).

    • A valve including a double piston effect seat assembly with unidirectional lip seals is provided. In one embodiment, a valve includes a ball (20) disposed in a cavity (58, 98) of a hollow valve body (12). The ball includes a flow port (22) and is rotatable to control flow through the valve. The valve also includes a seat assembly (26, 34, 76) having a seat (38, 80) in contact with the ball, a ring (40, 82) positioned on an opposite side of the seat from the ball, and unidirectional lip seals (46, 48, 50, 90, 92, 94). The seat assembly is a double piston seat assembly, with the double piston effect provided by the arrangement of the seat, the ring, and the unidirectional lip seals. Additional valve systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

    • A system includes an annular ball valve seat (24) including an annular spring (38), which biases the annular ball valve seat axially. More specifically, the annular ball valve seat includes a main body section (32), a lip section (48) extending from the main body section, and a seat groove (36) between the main body section and the lip section, wherein the first annular spring is disposed within the seat groove. A first leg of the annular spring biases the lip section in a first axial direction and a second leg (42) of the annular spring biases the main body section in a second axial direction opposite the first axial direction. The annular ball valve seat is configured to be disposed within a ball valve, on either side of a ball of the ball valve. The particular design of the annular ball valve seat enables pressure within a body cavity of the ball valve to be self - relieving.
