    • An inflating container (2400) filled with formation plugging fluid (2414) is deployed at the target zone by a rigless apparatus. The inflating container can be in valved fluid communication with an explosive filled container (2410), the explosive being ignited using a firing mechanism (2408) that is attached to the explosive filled container. The explosion expands gases in the explosive filled container which pass into the inflation container and displace the formation plugging fluid into the balloon sections (2402) and through the weakened portions of the central balloon (2402b) to penetrate the walls of the target zone. The expanded central balloon is melted by the heat of the chemical reaction and a portion adheres to the formation wall thereby sealing the undesirable target zone; thereafter, the remaining balloon sections are deflated or ruptured to permit the apparatus to be withdrawn through the production tubing.

    • A packer having a thermal memory spacing system that includes a portion of the system that that selectively changes an outer diameter due. The packer may include upper and lower sealing elements, and at least one thermal memory shape material sub positioned between the sealing elements. The thermal memory shape material sub may have a first outer diameter at a first temperature and a second larger outer diameter at a second temperature. The first temperature may be greater than the second temperature. The outer diameter of the sub may be selectively increased to temporarily decrease the annular area in which debris and/or materials may collect and potentially cause the packer to become stuck within the wellbore. Prior to moving the packer to a different location, the outer diameter of the sub may be decreased to increase the annular area potentially decreasing the likelihood that the packer becomes stuck.

    • An apparatus for performing a wellbore operation includes a retrievable tubular defining an axial flowbore and having at least one opening providing fluid communication between the flowbore and a formation, and a degradable diverter disposed at least partially in an annulus between a wellbore and the retrievable tubular, and adjacent to the at least one opening. The degradable diverter comprises a material that structurally degrades over an engineered time interval in response to an applied stimulus. The degradable diverter also directs a stimulation fluid exiting through the at least one opening towards the formation. The degradable diverter is connected to the retrievable tubular, a stimulation fluid is pumped through the flowbore.
