    • An adjustable rainwater gutter bracket consists of a bracket arm (1) with horizontal teeth (17) at its rear, a mounting block (3) with horizontal teeth (37) at its front, and a locking slide (5) housed in the mounting block. Lugs (21) on the bracket arm can enter a channel in the mounting block to retain the bracket arm loosely while allowing the teeth to be inter-engaged at different relative heights. The locking slide can lock a hook (57) provided on the bracket arm, to hold the bracket arm against the mounting block with the teeth firmly inter-engaged. This enables the height of the gutter to be easily adjusted. The mounting block is installed first, the bracket arm is fitted to it subsequently. A gutter seal strip (69) may have an integral resilient pad (91) at its end, to be trapped between the gutter edge and a rigid retaining clip (77) of a gutter fitting, to retain the gutter reliably without requiring accurate moulding of the gutter fitting. The seal strip may have a non-uniform external cross-section with a rib (75) engageable in a recess provided in the fitting, to retain the seal strip without requiring an end lip on the fitting. The seal strip may incorporate stiffer edge regions (83, 85).

    • An assembly for covering a gutter is disclosed which comprises a mounting member for attachment to a fascia or rafter or the like (10; 100) and a cover member (50) for covering and enclosing a gutter. The mounting member provides upper (22; 120) and lower (34;117) engagement means for engagement with corresponding engagement means (58, 62) defined in ends of the cover member. The engagement means of the mounting member include at least one gap or a space defined between two spaced walls for receiving a generally v-shaped end of the cover and at least one of the walls defines a flange/stop for engaging with the end of the cover for retaining the end of the cover between the walls. The cover will typically be formed from a material such as rolled steel, which may be coated painted or otherwise treated so as to be rust-resistant. The engagement means for the cover will typically be a generally v-shaped bend in one end of the over which engages in the slot by compression of the sides of the "v" together then expansion to engage in the gap/space. The bracket (10) may be generally planar and attach to a fascia board of a roof defining apertures for receiving fasteners in its front face for attachment to the fascia board. Alternatively the bracket (110) may define an attachment plate oriented at an angle of about 90° to the front face of the bracket for attachment directly to rafter, thus obviating the need for a fascia board.

    • A seal (12) for the spigot part (4) of a gutter comprises a sealing element (18) of flexible compressible material and retaining means (20) of a more rigid material. The retaining means (20) is connected to the spigot (4) by means of clips (16). Also disclosed is a gutter union (30) having two spigots (4) each of which is provided with a seal (12) of the type mentioned above, although a plain seal could be attached to the spigots (4) instead. The gutter union can join two uniform lengths of gutter (32). In another embodiment, the gutter union (40) is provided with a protrusion (56) fitting into an oversize slot (58) in the gutter for allowing thermal expansion of the gutter without breaking the seal.
