    • The object of the invention is a method and a device for dispersing pulp, especially pulp containing waste paper, in which method ground pulp mass is fed between the blade surfaces (3) of a dispersing device that are brought in a rotating movement in relation to one another. The invention is characterized in that the dispersing event takes place in a narrow opening (5) between the conical surfaces (3) at the outlet end (6) of which there is arranged a running wheel (7) acting as pump by which the pulp is pumped out of the dispersing device by centrifugal force. The inner cone of the dispersing device may act as rotor and the outer cone may act as stator. In addition, the pulp may be diluted at the outlet end of the blade opening (5) with fluid introduced to the intake side of the running wheel (7).

    • A feed line (10) for supplying a suspension in the distribution system (20) of the stock flow (30) of a paper machine is provided with a supsension equalizer (40) arranged upstream from the distribution system (20) and connected thereto by means of a straight feed piece. The suspension equalizer acts as a turbulence generator, whereby it sets the suspension into a state of turbulence with such force that the suspension is homogenized and the acceleration profile of the suspension is equalled out inside the cross-section of the feed line. This also enables optimum stock flow conditions to be created directly prior to the stock flow or even with relatively long feed lines running through windings or curves in order to meet the quality requirements for paper production. In one preferred embodiment, the turbulence generator consists of a tube section that is similar in shape to a venturi tube with an abruptly reduced cross section (42), followed by a gradual expansion of said cross section (45).

    • The invention concerns a device for generating liquid systems, in particular emulsions, de suspensions or the like, in a cavitation field. The device comprises a housing (1, 18, 32) having input and output openings (2; 3) for the supply of at least one component flow and the removal of the system. The housing (1, 18, 32) further has a confuser (4), a through-flow chamber (5, 20), which is equipped with a cavitator (7, 17), and a diffuser (6) coupled in succession. The object of the invention is to provide a suitable cavitator and a suitable design for generating and controlling a high intensity for the cavitation field. This object is achieved in that the cavitator (7, 17) is in the form of a truncated cone having at least one cavity (10, 26) through which a flow can pass. A component flow from at least one cavity (10, 26) and the component flow impinging of the cavitator (7, 17) mix downstream of the cavitator (7, 17). Preferably two through-flow chambers (20, 5) are coupled to a cavitator (17, 7) in order to generate a fluid cavitated system of which part is returned in a controllable manner to the cavitator (17) which is flowed towards first.

    • Method for preventing fibre flocculations to occur and to disperse already formed fibre flocculations, better to distribute additive chemicals, to increase fibrillation, to improve reaction and yield from two component chemicals, to prevent the forming of microbiological and other types of build-ups onto machine parts and other parts of the white water circulations, to prevent the filling of wires and felts, to prevent flocculation in coating equipments, to reduce content of air in the stock, and to reduce the foaming. This is achieved by that ultrasonic energy with a frequency of 15 - 60 kHz is added to the stock, machine parts, washing trays or coaters via externally mounted ultrasonic transducers or internally applied submersible ultrasonic units. The ultrasonic energy is added preferably by means of externally onto the head box mounted ultrasonic transducers or internally applied submersible ultrasonic units. The level of ultrasonic energy is controlled by in-line installed formation or flocculation size measurement systems to arrive at desired flocculation. The measured flocculation is used as a criterium for set point optimisation of weight per unit area for the paper or the board produced, and for maximum production per unit of time.
