The methods can generally comprise treating a tungsten-containing material in aqueous solution with a reducing agent suitable for the reduction of pentavalent vanadium to one or more lower oxidation states of vanadium, such that the tungsten can be more readily separated from the vanadium, e.g., via solvent extraction. In certain embodiments, the methods disclosed herein can provide tungsten, vanadium, or both tungsten and vanadium in sufficient purities for commercial use.

摘要： A process is disclosed for separation and recovery of vanadium, molybdenum, iron, tungsten, cobalt and nickel from alumina-based materials, mattes, ores, manufacturing by-products and waste. These elements are oxidized. The oxides are reacted with gaseous HCI to form volatile chloride- bearing compounds that subsequently sublimate. The volatile compounds are condensed in a downward-stepped thermal gradient that allows collection of moderate to high purity compounds of individual elements with exception of a nickel-cobalt co-condensate. Nickel is separated from cobalt by precipitation of nickel chloride from concentrated HCI pressurized with gaseous HCI.

摘要： A process is disclosed for recovering components of a catalyst (4, 6, 8), in particular a spent DeNox catalyst. The catalyst (4,6, 8) is ground and the ground catalyst is then shaped into bodies (18) having a defined grain. Alternatively, the ground catalyst (4, 6, 8) is applied on a reducing agent (36) with a defined grain and hardened thereon. The thus produced bodies (18) or the thus modified reducing agents (38), and if required an additional reducing agent (20, 36), are then chlorinated in reducing conditions. Titanium tetrachloride TiCl4 is then separated by distillation from the other chlorine and/or chlorine-oxygen compounds contained in the gas mixture produced during chlorination. The thus obtained titanium tetrachloride TiCl4 is burned with oxygen O2 or with oxygen O2 and hydrogen H2. The thus recovered titanium dioxide pigment meets the specification of commercially available titanium dioxide pigments and may thus be used for producing new DeNOx catalysts. This process and the arrangement (2, 32) are in principle suitable for reusing the most different types of metal oxide catalysts that contain titanium dioxide as base material.

摘要： A process for recovering tungsten from a spent catalyst comprising a supported heteropolytungstic acid characterised in that the process comprises: (a) contacting the spent catalyst with an extractant selected from water, methanol, ethanol or a mixture of any two or more thereof for sufficient time to extract at least part of the heteropolytungstic acid therefrom; (b) separating the extractant containing heteropolytungstic acid from the treated spent catalyst; (c) contacting the extractant containing heteropolytungstic acid with a strong acid ion exchange resin to remove corrosion metals contained therein and (d) recovering the treated extractant containing heteropolytungstic acid for subsequent use.

摘要： The invention relates to a process for recovering Group VIB metals from a catalyst, in particular a spent bulk catalyst, comprising one or more Group VIB metals and one or more Group VIII metals. Further, the invention relates to a solid Group VIB metal compound obtainable by the process according to the invention having the general formula H 2 XO 4 , wherein X = W 1-y Mo y , wherein y is between O and 1 and to its use in a process for the manufacture of a fresh catalyst. The process comprises the steps of: a) oxidizing the one or more Group VIB metals to one or more Group VIB metal oxides; b) separating the one or more Group VIB metal oxides from the one or more Group VIII metals; c) dissolving the one or more Group VIB metal oxides in water to produce an aqueous solution of one or more Group VIB metal oxides; d) precipitating the one or more Group VIB metal oxides from the aqueous solution by adding alkaline earth metal (Group IIa) ions to the aqueous solution; e) optionally filtering and washing the precipitate; and f) transforming the precipitate by adding an acid to form a solid metal compound comprising one or more Group VIB metals.
