The first member (1) is made of a first substance or a first composition of substances, said first substance or first composition of substances being adapted to react exothermically with water (93), producing heat. The second member is made of a second substance or a second composition of substances, said second substance or second composition of substances being adapted to give rise to a combustion reaction which is activated by heat. The first member (1) is a trigger which can be activated with water or with an aqueous solution (93) and is configured to activate the combustion reaction of the second member (2). The article (8) is a disposable and portable fire-lighting article which allows a fire to be lit even without matches or lighters.

摘要： A process for upgrading brown coal and/or the recovery of metal values. The process includes providing two or more converging surfaces defining a nip therebetween wherein, at least one of said surfaces is rollable in a direction toward said nip; feeding material to said nip where, by the rolling action of the rollable surface, under shear stresses the material forms a plastic mass. The invention also extends to a process for the production of char and/or metal char composites, with the optional recovery of metal values, by heating pellets formed from the upgraded brown coal process.

One particular embodiment involves using compacted body or mass as a fuel supplement or fuel replacement for coal or other fossil fuel(s) in co-firing power plants. Other specific applications include bedding for various animals including fowl, horses, and rabbits. Another application comprises pelletized absorbents such as cat litter for absorbing liquid and/or solid waste products.

摘要： This invention relates to a process of agglomerating what is generally regarded as waste particulate material with a sodium silicate binder and thereby converting said material into a useful form. In one embodiment of the invention the particulate material is precious metal fines which, when agglomerated, are suitable for introduction into an ore beneficiation process. In another, the particulate material is a combustible fuel dust which, when agglomerated, is suitable for use as a solid combustible fuel. In yet another embodiment the particulate material is suitable, when agglomerated for use as building blocks or bricks. It is also envisaged that hazardous particulate material can be agglomerated and thereby rendered suitable for storage.
