摘要： The invention concerns a method of producing a filled, closed, sterilized container which comprises at least one body member and at least one closure part and can be opened without the assistance of tools. The method is characterized in that, when the container has been filled with the appropriate contents, closed in a manner resistant to sterilization and sterilized at temperatures which are sufficient to preserve its contents, the connection between predetermined container parts or container parts defined by this method step is weakened such that these container parts can be separated without the assistance of tools.

Medical devices stored in and removed from packages can include shape memory materials (e.g., polymers, alloys) which can cause the medical device to expand due to activation of the shape memory material. Medical devices can also expand due to other reasons, such as elastic recoil and/or thermal expansion. The methods and systems described herein may be used to limit the expansion of a medical device along at least one axis while inside a package. The methods and systems described herein may be used to relieve some of the stored strain in the medical device upon the opening of the package. Methods and systems are also described for opening a package which is subject to expansive forces from the medical device.

The container comprises a flange (3) provided with a lip (9) orientated downwardly of the container. The cover comprises a flange (6) provided with a lip (8). A flexible seal tape (13) is welded or glued against both cylindrical surfaces to hold the cover (2) and the container (1) together. The liquid media package (10) having a tubular body (12), an end cap (14) on the tubular body (12) for containing the liquid media, and a mechanism for inducing stress, such a score line (20) in the tubular body (12), responsive to pressure developed by a pressure generating device to cause failure and separation of at least a portion of tubular body. More specifically, a first pressure is developed to dispense liquid media through the orifices in the end cap. A second pressure, higher than the first pressure, is subsequently developed for effecting failure of the tubular body at the point of induced stress. The package may be fabricated from two materials, where at least one of which is recyclable.
