    • The present invention relates to a headrest and methods for preventing drink-driving and for receiving incoming calls with a cell phone by using the headrest. The headrest comprises: a pair of side covers arranged at a distance from each other in an inner space defined within a headrest housing; an automatic operator driven by a 1st motor that is installed in the housing, for automatically adjusting a tilt angle of the housing; a recognition device mounted to one side of the housing, the recognition device moving back and forth as driven by a 2nd motor installed in the housing and having at least one of a speaker, a microphone, an alcohol sensor and an eye blink-detection camera; and a manual operator for pressurizing and moving the side covers to enable a user to manually rotate the housing. With the headrest and the methods for preventing drink-driving and for receiving incoming calls with a cell phone by using the headrest according to the present invention, drink-driving by drivers can be prevented in advance, auto theft can be prevented by inputting a password for running a vehicle, and car accidents can be prevented as the drivers can receive calls with a cell phone in a hands-free mode while driving.

    • Method for assuring that the operator of a vehicle is an authorized driver, the method comprising utilizing an onboard, multi-mode driver identification system to ascertain whether an operator is an authorized driver. A first driver identification procedure is performed on a present operator of the vehicle and determining whether the present operator is an authorized or unauthorized driver of the vehicle. A second driver identification procedure is performed on the present operator of the vehicle and determining whether the present operator is an authorized or unauthorized driver of the vehicle, wherein the first and second driver identification procedures are performed with a time interval therebetween, the time interval being dependent upon the nature of the work being performed by the operator. A remedial measure is exercised to avert potentially negative impact when the present operator of the vehicle is determined to be an unauthorized driver based upon at least one of the performed identification procedures.
