摘要： A process for retreading a tire including preparing a casing of a pre-cured tire, forming a gum into a strip of about .030 inch thickness, placing thermoplastic covers over each side of the gum and irradiating both sides of the gum. The gum is irradiated with about 20 megarads of continuous electron bombardment. The gum is subsequently further cured by heat treatment for about 4 minutes at 280 DEG F. Subsequently, the partially pre-cured gum, a pre-cured tread and casing are assembled and finally cured for about three hours at 280 DEG F.

The system also includes an inner electrode spaced from an outer electrode, and a generator operable to generate an alternating electric field between the electrodes and across the article in the mold to obtain substantially even heating of the moldable material in the flat region and the radial region at the end of the heating cycle.

摘要： Particular embodiments of the present invention include method of forming a retreaded tire. The method includes providing an unbonded retreaded tire, forming a degassing assembly by arranging a flexible degassing membrane around an outer circumference of the unbonded retreaded tire, placing the each of the one or more vacuum chambers under at least partial vacuum pressure, and performing a degassing operation by pressurizing a degassing chamber while each of the one or more vacuum chambers in the degassing assembly are at least under partial vacuum pressure. The method further includes disassembling the degassing assembly by separating the unbonded degassed tire from the flexible degassing membrane, and bonding the unbonded degassed tire to form a bonded retreaded tire by pressurizing a curing chamber and sufficiently heating the curing chamber to cure the bonding layer of the unbonded degassed tire. A tire made by a similar process is also disclosed.
