    • With regard to pressure control of an electric injection molding machine, there has been a demand for a method of detecting injection pressure with high precision and extremely small time lag without the need of an expensive pressure detection sensor that requires complicated installation work, a complex mechanical structure, or such manual operations as noise suppression measures or zero-point adjustment. The device and the method employ a high gain observer that incorporates a discrete arithmetic expression derived by using an equation of state for expressing a numerical formula of an injection/pressure-keeping mechanism of the electric injection molding machine. The high gain observer receives input signals comprising a screw position signal in addition to a motor current command or actual motor current, and outputs an estimated value of injection pressure, which is one of status variables of the aforementioned equation of state. The high gain observer outputs an estimated value of injection pressure with high precision and extremely small time lag without the need of a pressure detection sensor. Therefore, an estimated value of injection pressure output from the high gain observer can be used as a feedback signal of a detected value of injection pressure for injection pressure control.

    • The invention relates to an injection-moulding method, in which pressurised synthetic material is injected from a sealable antechamber (1), after the removal of a seal (2), into a moulding cavity (3), filling the latter under pressure. The volume of the antechamber (1) and the pressure which prevails therein when the seal (2) is removed, have values which result in the formation of at least half the pressure achieved during the moulding process in the moulding cavity (3), if the antechamber (1) volume is maintained at a constant level throughout the injection-moulding process.

    • This invention relates to a method of controlling the molding cycle of an injection molding machine provided with a flow passage opening/closing mechanism capable of interrupting the flow of injected plastic synthetic resin, and intends to reduce the length of time for one cycle of molding and to stabilize the value of weight of the product. The structure is such that said flow passage opening/closing mechanism is closed when plastic synthetic resin is filled into cavities of the metallic dies after injected and put in dwelling. This structure permits simultaneous progress of dwell process by residual dwell on the side of the metallic die and of weight measuring process for the subsequent molding cycle on the side of the screw, whereby the length of time for one cycle of molding can be reduced. With said flow passage opening/closing mechanism and a check valve provided for the screw, the pressure of plastic synthetic resin in the cylinder immediately before injection and during dwelling can be obtained as a definite value and, with the weight value of the product obtained from calculation, the injection molding machine can be controlled so that the weight of molded product may be kept constant.
