    • A method for manufacturing a moulded article of fibre-reinforced resin composite material comprises the steps of: a. disposing a body comprising fibrous reinforcement and resin into a mould cavity portion of a first mould part (84); b. locating a second mould part (86) relative to the first mould part (84) to form a mutually spaced configuration and to enclose the body within an intermediate mould cavity (100) defined between the spaced first and second mould parts; c. providing a peripheral hermetic seal between the first and second mould parts; d. applying a source of vacuum to the intermediate mould cavity (100) through at least one conduit (92) extending into the intermediate mould cavity (100), the vacuum extracting air from the intermediate mould cavity (100); e. moving at least one of first and second mould parts so as relatively to move the first and second mould parts together to define a final mould cavity; and f. heating the body to form the moulded article within the final mould cavity. An apparatus for manufacturing a moulded article of fibre-reinforced resin composite material is also disclosed. This manufacturing process has a low cost and a high quality product.

    • Systems, method and devices for applying a fluid composite to a carrier sheet are presented herein. An aspect of this disclosure is directed to a fluid-administering apparatus (10) for applying a fluid composite, such as resins, epoxies, and adhesives, to a carrier sheet (34), such as a cloth tape. The apparatus includes a support frame (12) with a container buttress (26), and a container (14) removably received within the container buttress of the support frame. The container has a basin (2) for holding the fluid composite, a lid (64) covering the basin, and first and second scraping surfaces (92, 94) for scraping the carrier sheet. The container also has first and second slots (78, 76), each of which is defined through a respective opposing side of the container. The carrier sheet passes through the first slot, traverses down into the basin through the fluid composite, slides over the first scraping surface then under the second scraping surface, and passes out through the second slot.

    • The present invention relates to a method and a system for impregnating a tubular liner having a fibrous inner layer and a fluid-irnpermeable outer layer. The method is carried out by means of a conveyor system defining a conveying path monotonously descending from a fourth position via a third and a second position to a first position. At the first position, a resin injector is located. Along the conveying path, one or more constrictions are provided for allowing the liner to assume a flat configuration in which the fibrous inner layer of the liner is contacting an opposite part of the fibrous inner layer of the liner. The liner is positioned on the conveyor system, extending through the conveying path and the one or more constrictions. The liner defines a supply zone extending inside the liner between the first position and the one ore more constrictions and defines an impregnation zone extending inside the liner between the one or more constrictions and the fourth position. The supply zone is filled with resin by using the resin injector, and the resin is allowed to advance in the impregnation zone in a direction opposite the conveying direction of the liner and to reach a steady state position at the fourth position for subjecting the liner to an elevated impregnation pressure between the second and third positions caused by the height difference between the first and second position and the third and fourth position.
