    • A clamp connector emergency release tool designed for subsea operations, when normal release of a subsea clamp connector (14) is not possible, is shown and described. The tool is adapted to be handled and operated remotely by a work class ROV tool. The tool includes a clamp connector (14) adapter housing (7) arranged to engage with and connect to the clamp connector (14) body, a rotatable hole saw (11) mounted on the housing (7), a rotary motor (1) in driving connection with the hole saw (11) and a piston (3) and cylinder assembly (4,5). The piston (3) and cylinder assembly (4,5) enables advancing the rotatable hole saw (11) into the clamp connector (14) body around its jack screw, in order to separate the jack screw together with a threaded portion of said clam connector (14) in order to separate the jack screw from the clamp connector (14) body.

    • A compact radius log sawing apparatus cuts a log longitudinally along a radius curve to produce boards. This sawing apparatus includes a C-shaped housing containing a plurality of radially adjustable paired rollers, and a continuous flexible saw blade provided with teeth at one or both edges. A support exposes a section of saw blade that is curved and stabilized by the use of electromagnetic fields in cooperation with rollers. The saw is then configured to make a cut of a desired thickness in a curve parallel the growth rings of a log, in an arc which minimizes the number of knot defects in the board. The compact radius cutting saw may be modified to provide a straight cut by replacing the curved blade with a conventional band saw blade. This straight cut saw may optionally include a guide/drive wheel assembly positioned within or external to the housing. An extendable and retractable sleeve at each open end of the C-shaped housing is provided to further stabilize the saw blade and provide a gentle flow during its course of travel.
