摘要： A quick color change powder coating system has a powder supply (10), a powder pump (20) that receives powder from the powder supply (10) through a suction pick-up tube (22), a spray gun (30) and a powder hose (40) that connects the pump (20) to the gun (30). The apparatus includes a purge air switch assembly and a first air source that provides air at purge pressure to a first inlet of the purge air switch assembly. A second air source provides flow rate air to a first pump inlet (50) and atomizing air to a second inlet (52) of the pump (20) via a purge air switch assembly. Powder is drawn up the tube (22) and into the pump (20) by suction produced by flow rate air into the pump (20). A purge inlet (54) is associated with the powder inlet (24) to the pump (20). The purge air switch assembly operates in response to a purge control signal to connect purge air to the atomizing inlet (52) at the pump (20) and to the pump's purge inlet (54); whereby the pump (20), hose (40) and gun (30) can be purged at the same time. Purge air may also be provided between the pump (20) and the hose (40) and the gun (30) to further increase purging efficiency. A powder tube cleaning device (28) is also provided which includes a wiper device such as an annular seal that closely fits about the tube exterior. As the tube (22) is withdrawn, the wiper device knocks powder off the tube exterior back into the powder supply (10) to reduce clean up time and waste of powder.

摘要： A powdered lubricant applicator (10) is provided which utilizes a venturi nozzle (32) to draw powder from a fluidized hopper (30). The amount of powder delivered from the hopper (30) is controlled by the air flow rate through the nozzle (32) and by the length of time that the air flows through the nozzle (32). As the fluidized powdered lubricant passes along a delivery tube (34), additional "atomizing" air is introduced into the delivery tube (34) to assist powder delivery to the destination mechanism to be lubricated. In addition, fluidizing air is added to the delivery tube. Three pressure regulators (72, 42, 44) are used to independently control the flow air, the atomizing air and the fluidizing air. The powdered lubricant travels to an electrostatic gun (18) where it is charged before it is delivered via a discharge line (16) to a destination.
