    • A continuous dynamic mixing assembly includes a mixing chamber having an interior wall which is generally symmetrical about a central longitudinal axis. Flowable material is mixed in the mixing chamber. At least one inlet introduces the flowable material into the mixing chamber. At least one outlet discharges mixed flowable material from the mixing chamber. Axial baffles are connected to and extend along the interior wall for disrupting substantially circumferential material flow in the mixing chamber. Transverse baffles are connected to and extend from the interior wall transverse to the axis along a major dimension of the transverse baffles. A rotatable agitator includes agitator baffles extending transverse to the axis in alignment with respective transverse baffles, which forms gaps between the agitator baffles and the respective transverse baffles. The transverse baffles and the agitator baffles disrupt substantially axial fluid flow inside the mixing chamber while forcing the material through the gaps. Also featured is a method in which the mixing assembly is used.

    • A new device and process for continuously applying coatings, such as resin and additives or polymers or the like, to minerals is disclosed. The device and apparatus differ substantially from standard batch coating processes currently used by industry. The apparatus uses a horizontal cylinder (1) with an internal auger (10, 11) and a series of injection ports (101-106) distributed along the cylinder. Minerals that are to be coated are pretreated and passed through the mixing cylinder using the auger (which may comprise one or more screws with variable pitch blades). As the mineral particles pass through the cylinder various coating materials are injected by the injection ports. The complete system is described, the method of use is explained and the control system which allows for different products is described.

    • The invention realizes a cutting-mixing-feeding wagon (1) for forage and grass or straw silage comprising a container (2) in which there are one or more screw feeders (5) for the treatment of the material inserted in the container (2) itself through an opening (3). Each screw feeder (5) is provided with a couple of spirals (7, 8) axially opposed to one another and wound the one clockwise (7) and the other counterclockwise (8). Each end of each screw feeder (5) is provided with a scraping element (10) cooperating through a crawling with the external surface of a flange (9) put between the end of each screw feeder (5) and the wall (21) of said container (2). During the rotation of each screw feeder (5) said scraping element (10) prevents the material accumulation on the external surface of said flange (9) and on said wall (21) as well as in the area surrounding them.

    • An apparatus for making a mixed feed livestock cargo unit suitable for long distance shipping mixes dry fodder such as hay with fermented silage such as haylage in a ratio proportioned to produce a mixed feed product having a net moisture content in the range of approximately 15 % up to about 40 %. The mixed feed product is compressed in a compression apparatus (16) and then sealed for shipment. Preferably, the mixed feed product is compressed directly into an airtight bag at the bottom of a vertical compression chamber (200) in the compression apparatus (16). The dry fodder in one embodiment has a moisture content of approximately 8 % up to about 15 % and the fermented silage has a moisture content of approximately 40 % up to about 70 %.
