摘要： A process for heat treating biological tissue includes applying a pulsed energy to a first treatment area of a target tissue to create a therapeutic effect to the target tissue without destroying or permanently damaging the target tissue. After a predetermined interval of time, within a single treatment session, the pulsed energy is reapplied to the first treatment area. During the interval of time between pulsed energy applications to the first treatment area, the pulsed energy is applied to a second treatment area of the target tissue that is spaced apart from the first treatment area. The pulsed energy is repeatedly applied to each of the areas to be treated until a predetermined number of applications to each area to be treated has been achieved.

摘要： The present invention offers an alternative for cancer treatment where radiation, thermotherapy, or another therapeutic modality must be delivered to an internal cavity of a subject, for example to treat mouth, anal, cervical, and vaginal cancers. The invention is a new approach that builds on recent results in 3D printing and steerable needle motion planning to create customized implants containing customized curvature-constrained internal channels that fit securely, minimize air gaps, and precisely guide treatment sources through internal printed channels to accurately reach tumors and minimize damage to healthy tissue.

摘要： The invention relates to a laser system for the treatment of body tissue (1) on an inner circumferential tissue surface (2). The laser system comprises a laser source (1) for the generation of a laser beam (3) and a handpiece (4) with a treatment head (5). The treatment head (5) extends along a longitudinal axis (6) and is adapted in an manner, that the longitudinal axis (6) of the treatment head (5) during operation is at least approximately parallel to the inner circumferential tissue surface (2). During operation the laser beam (3) enters the treatment head (5) in the direction of the longitudinal axis (6). A deflection mirror (7) is disposed in the treatment head (5) and guides the laser beam (3) radially outwards out of the treatment head (5) onto the inner circumferential tissue surface (2). Movable deflection means (8) for the laser beam (3) are provided to scan the inner circumferential tissue surface (2) within a treatment area (9) at least in a circumferential direction.

Energy, preferably in the form of infrared or near infrared wavelength light may be applied across the vaginal tissue or rectal tissue to treat pelvic pain and or chronic prostatitis. This method of energy application may cause local heating, alteration of cellular respiration, and alterations of local blood flow resulting in decreased muscle spasm, and or decreased pain, and or decreased overactive bladder symptoms. The method of the present invention may effectively treat chronic pelvic pain and or the symptoms of chronic prostatitis. The method of the invention may combine massaging of tissue with irradiation of same.

摘要： In one embodiment there is provided a system for light therapy. The system includes a light guide transmission device having at least one UV bulb for dispersing UV light a light guide cable to a light guide terminating end, an optical capturing device operable to receive an image from a lens positioned at an optical cable terminating end, and a fluid delivery/suction device along a flexible hose. Each of the cables being inserted into a probe cable having a tip adapted for use internally or externally with a patient. Further the system includes a single controller in communication with and for controlling the functionality of the light guide transmission device, the optical capturing device, and the fluid delivery/suction device.
