摘要： A method of securing a patient onto an operating table when the patient is in the Trendelenburg position and apparatus therefor including a kit. A viscoelastic pad is used to support and hold a patient on a medical procedure table during a medical procedure performed while the table, and thus the patient lying thereon, is in an inclined position, such as the Trendelenburg position. The viscoelastic pad has characteristics which promote a minimization of pressure forces on the patient's body, as well as promote a secure cushioning and holding of the patient in a desired position on the table, in order to minimize injury to the patient.

摘要： A hip distractor includes a pair of distractor members and a support configured to be fastened to a surgical table. The support includes at least two mounts for coupling to a pair of joints that couple the distractor members to the support. Another hip distractor includes a pair of distractor assemblies that are configured to apply a distraction load to a patient. Each of the assemblies includes a joint for coupling the corresponding assembly to a surgical table. The joint permits vertical and horizontal angular adjustment of the corresponding assembly. A method of distracting a hip includes coupling a patient's legs to a pair of distractor assemblies and simultaneously adjusting a vertical angle and a horizontal angle of at least one of the distractor assemblies.

Such a table can use a sliding mechanism to maintain traction during positioning of a patient's leg. The table also can utilize a knee arthroplasty attachment to provide for precise knee positioning, such as by using a sliding assembly attached to a spar of the table. The table can include a pair of actuators providing for both lateral tilt and trendelenburg motions, which reduces the complexity from previous tables. The table also can include a removable power/control module, which allows for quick and easy replacement of damaged components.

摘要： A dynamic trunk positioning device (10) comprises a frame (14) adapted to be removably mounted to an operating table (12). A number of pads (34) are provided for engaging the trunk of a patient. Each pad (34) is preferably independently adjustably mounted to the frame (14) for movements along three independent directions in order to permit 3-D manipulation thereof by a surgeon either before the surgery while a patient is being positioned or during the surgery when additional corrective forces on the patient's thorax are needed, thereby providing not only for stable positioning of the patient on the operating table but also providing for active application of individual corrective forces at different locations on the patient's trunk.
