    • A tether for a personal protective device. The tether provides an initial length (L1). The tether is configured to self-retain a stretched length (L2) when stretched. The tether is further configured to self-transition or self-contract from the stretched length (L2) to a recovered length (L3) when heated. With this construction, the tether can be stretched by a user to the stretched state in which the stretched length (L2) approximates the length desired by the user; following use, the tether can be contracted to the recovered length (L3) for storage. Or, if the stretched length (L2) is longer than desired by the user, the tether can be contracted to a desired length in the recovered state (i.e., the recovered length (L3)) and then worn. The tether can be formed from a polymer blend of EVA and TPU.

    • Integrated prosthetic element usable for bone implant operations or as a bone filler or replacement, comprising at least a metal support (30) and an insert (13) made of plastic material coupled with at least a first surface of said metal support (30) so as to define a wear surface, or insert, of adjustable thickness. The metal support (30) comprises, on the side opposite said first surface, a second surface intended to be coupled with the bone part on which the prosthesis or bone replacement is installed. The first surface comprises a layer (1 1) having cavities or holes (12) distributed in a substantially uniform manner and suitable for anchorage and solidarization of the plastic material that makes up the insert (13), while said second surface comprises a porous layer (16) suitable to optimize the bone anchorage. The first surface and the second surface are separated by a compact layer (14) that stops the plastic material in the step of forming the plastic insert (13). The cavities or holes (12) of the first surface have bigger shapes and sizes than, and in any case different from, the pores of the second surface.
