    • Exemplary embodiments of foam pumps, refill units and dispenser systems are disclosed herein. Some embodiments have a foam pump that includes a chamber having a liquid inlet, a vacuum outlet, a pressurized air inlet and a liquid air mixture outlet. The exemplary foam pump includes a liquid inlet valve located in fluid communication with the liquid inlet to allow liquid to enter the chamber and to prevent liquid from exiting the chamber through the liquid inlet. Vacuum pressure applied to the vacuum outlet causes fluid to flow through the liquid inlet, past the liquid inlet valve and into the chamber. Pressurized air flows through the pressurized air inlet and mixes with the liquid and the liquid air mixture is forced out of the liquid air mixture outlet. The foam pump includes a mix media in fluid communication with the liquid air mixture outlet. The liquid air mixture flows through the mix media and flows through an outlet to be dispensed as a foam.

    • A dispenser comprises a liquid piston and a gas piston coupled for movement. The pistons are mounted for movement relative to one another to define a mixing chamber therebetween. An actuator simultaneously moves the pistons in a first direction such that the air piston delivers air from an air chamber to the mixing chamber and the liquid piston delivers a liquid from a liquid chamber to the mixing chamber where the air and liquid are mixed in the mixing chamber to create a foam. Movement of one of the air piston and the liquid piston is stopped such that the pistons move relative to one another such that only air is delivered to the mixing chamber. The movement of the pistons in a second direction draws residual foam from a delivery tube and delivers the residual foam to the air chamber.

    • A foam dispenser having a selectively pressurized cartridge that includes a dispenser housing maintaining a motor driving an air compressor with a compressed air conduit extending therefrom. Also maintained within the dispenser is a foam generating head that receives air and liquid conduits that include dispensing valves. A control circuit controls the motor and dispensing valves, and further is interconnected with a hand sensor positioned in association with the dispensing head. In one embodiment of the invention, a disposable and replaceable cartridge of liquid soap or the like is adapted to sealingly and removably receive the compressed air conduit as well as the liquid and air outlet conduits, along with a vent valve and a pressure sensor, the vent valve and pressure sensor communicating with a control circuit. In another embodiment, the various conduits, valves and sensors, as well as the dispensing head, comprise a portion of the cartridge. The control circuit, upon sensing the presence of the user's hands, activates the motor and air compressor to generate a pressure head in the cartridge and the dispensing valves are activated when the pressure sensor determines that a pressure head sufficient for dispensing has been generated. The motor and compressor are turned off at an appropriate time in association with the activation of the dispensing valves. The vent valve is activated at the end of the dispensing cycle.

    • Pumps with housing and a diaphragms located within the housing are disclosed herein. A diaphragm connected to an actuator separates the housing into a first chamber and a second chamber. Each chamber includes a one-way inlet valve and a one-way outlet valve. Movement of the actuator in a first direction causes the volume of the first chamber to contract and causes the first fluid to be expelled from the first chamber while causing the volume of the second chamber to expand and draw in the second fluid through the second one-way inlet valve. Movement of the actuator in the second direction has the opposite effect causing the first fluid to be drain to the first chamber and the second fluid to be expelled through the second one-way outlet valve.
