摘要： The present invention relates to thermoplastic compositions for making a liquid impermeable moisture vapour permeable layer by coating the composition onto a substrate. The thermoplastic compositions comprise preferred thermoplastic polymers and suitable hydrophilic plasticisers that also enhance the moisture vapour permeability of films or layers made from the thermoplastic compositions. The layers made from the termoplastic compositions of the present invention can find a variety of applications wherein moisture vapour permeability is desirable, such as within absorbent articles for example diapers, sanitary napkins, panty liners and incontinence products, and also protective bedding covers, protective clothing and the like.

摘要： Fabrics containing hydrophilic expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) fibers and at least one non-ePTFE fiber are provided. The fabric provides a combination of high breathability and controlled moisture management. In exemplary embodiments, the fabric may be a woven, knit, or fleece fabric. The fabrics contain at least 15% ePTFE fibers based on the final fabric. The hydrophilic ePTFE fibers in the fabrics may be used to control moisture such as water vapor, liquid water, or sweat within the fabric by storing the moisture within the hydrophilic ePTFE fiber network, Also, little to none of the moisture remains on the outside of the hydrophilic ePTFE fibers, making the fabric feel dry even where there is moisture therein. A polymer membrane and/or a textile may be laminated to the fabric to produce a laminated article.

摘要： A garment for cyclists is disclosed that is particularly suitable for being able to be worn with any trousers so as not to restrict the person wishing to go by bicycle to wearing trousers with built-in protection, offering good protection of the genital, perineal and ischial zones of both the professional and amateur and occasional cyclists in a comfortable, discreet and also very practical manner. The garment comprises an elasticised or elastic edge (2) provided for adhering to the body of the user so as to ensure that the entire structure of the garment does not move during pedalling, a pair of strips (3) made of woven material or elastics or of another fabric or suitable material designed to rest against the buttocks of the cyclist and engaged at one end with the edge (2) in the rear part, a front portion (4) connected to the strips (3) at one end and at the other to the edge (2) in the front part and set up to be positioned on the genital zone of the user with a series of zones with different types of processing designed to offer breathability, containment and support. The garment comprises a protective pad (5) shaped and located between the front part (4) and the pair of strips (3) and with padding having different thicknesses wherein the thickness is greater towards the centre of the padded portion placed at the support of the buttocks on the saddle so as to support better and with greater comfort the perineal and ischial zones of the user. In particular, the protective pad of very reduced dimensions protects the perineal zone and the ischial bones of the user.

摘要： Waterproof, breathable socks, booties, shoe inserts, and footwear assemblies containing the shoe inserts are provided. The booties and shoe inserts include a laminate of a seamless ePTFE membrane and at least one textile. The bootie is conformable over a range of sizes and shoe shapes, and may be shaped to fit numerous sizes and shapes of asymmetrical shoe lasts. The bootie may shrink to fit, or, alternatively, be stretched to fit, an asymmetrical last having a desired size to form a shoe insert. Such a conformable bootie eliminates the need to have multiple sizes of shoe inserts correlating to particular shoe sizes, in embodiments where the ePTFE is seamless and continuous, the shoe insert eliminates the need for a waterproof seam tape, which is conventionally used to make shoe inserts waterproof. Methods of forming the socks, booties, and shoe inserts are also provided. Unique lasts and sock constructions are also provided.
