摘要： A mobile device includes one or more electronic circuits that control the operation of the device. The electronic circuit can be connected to a power source by a switch that can be maintained in the open position when the device is being shipped and stored prior to use. The act of taking the mobile device out of the package can include manipulating the mobile device to cause the switch to close connecting the electronic circuit to the power source to begin operation. In accordance with some embodiments, the switch can include a magnetic switch that is maintained in the open position by a magnetic component in the packaging and becomes closed when the mobile device is removed from the packaging. In accordance with some embodiments, the switch can be maintained in the open position by a packaging insert and becomes closed when the package is opened removing the insert.

摘要： An ultra-thin wearable sensing device includes a sensor tag IC that enables the device to communicate wirelessly to a reading device. The wearable sensing device includes one or more sensors connected to the sensor tag IC that sense characteristics of the person, animal or object that the sensing device comes in contact with. The sensed characteristics can include biological signals (e.g., ECG, EMG, and EEG), temperature, galvanic skin response (GSR), heat flux and chemicals or fluids released by the skin. The reading device can display the information to the user and/or transmit the sensor data to a remote location for further processing. A doctor can review the data or have the data further analyzed and use this data or information to assist with treatment.

摘要： A system includes a plurality of conformal sensors and a central controller. Each conformal sensor includes a processing portion and an electrode portion. The electrode portion is configured to substantially conform to a portion of an outer skin surface of a subject and to sense electrical pulses generated by muscle tissue of the subject. The sensed electrical pulses are transmitted from the electrode portion to the processing portion as raw analog signals for onboard processing thereof by the processing portion of the conformal sensor. The processing portion is configured to create digital signals representative of the raw analog signals. The central controller is coupled to each of the plurality of conformal sensors and is configured to receive the digital signals from each of the plurality of conformal sensors.

An example method includes applying a first layer to a substrate, creating a plurality of vias through the first layer to the substrate, and applying a second polymer layer to the first layer such that the second polymer forms anchors contacting at least a portion of the substrate. At least one electronic device layer is disposed on a portion of the second polymer layer. At least one trench is formed through the second polymer layer to expose at least a portion of the first layer. At least a portion of the first layer is removed by exposing the structure to a selective etchant to providing a flexible electronic structure that is in contact with the substrate. The electronic structure can be released from the substrate.

摘要： System, devices and methods are presented that integrate stretchable or flexible circuitry, including arrays of active devices for enhanced sensing, diagnostic, and therapeutic capabilities. The invention enables conformal sensing contact with tissues of interest, such as the inner wall of a lumen, a the brain, or the surface of the heart. Such direct, conformal contact increases accuracy of measurement and delivery of therapy. Further, the invention enables the incorporation of both sensing and therapeutic devices on the same substrate allowing for faster treatment of diseased tissue and fewer devices to perform the same procedure.

摘要： An optical flow simulator includes a disk, a stepper motor, and a microcontroller. The disk has a color distribution varied along a path on the disk. The stepper motor is configured to rotate a spindle, and the spindle is coupled to the disk. The microcontroller controls the stepper motor such that the spindle and the disk rotate a predefined rotational velocity. The color distribution produces a simulated optical signal responsive to rotation of the disk and the predefined rotational speed.

The system includes a master sensor device including a clock signal generator generating a clock signal, a transceiver transmitting the clock signal, and a pulse sensor sensing a pulse of the user. The master sensor device is attached on a first location on the user. A first slave sensor device is attached at a second location on the user remote from the first location. The slave sensor device includes a pulse sensor sensing the pulse of the user and a transceiver receiving the clock signal from the master sensor device. The first slave sensor device synchronizes the sensing of the pulse to the clock signal. The transceiver transmits a time stamp signal to the master sensor. The blood pressure of the user is determined based on a pulse transit time or pulse arrival time between the sensing of the pulse by the master sensor device and the first slave sensor device.
