摘要： A waste outlet fitting (10) for connection between a waste outlet (12) and a drain pipe is provided. The waste outlet fitting (10) includes a main tubular member (16) having an open top end, adapted to be attached to the waste outlet (12) and act as a water inlet for the fitting (10), and a water outlet (18), located substantially at the bottom of the main tubular member (16) and adapted to be connected to the drain pipe. The main tubular member (16) further includes an inner tubular member (20) which surrounds and extends up from the water outlet (18). The waste outlet fitting (10) further includes a trap member (24) having a closed top end adapted to be supported within the main tubular member (16) such that the trap member (24) extends, from a position above a top of the inner tubular member (20), downwardly along a partial length of the inner tubular member (20), thereby enclosing the partial length of the inner tubular member (20) so as to form a water trap. In this arrangement, a water passage is formed from the water inlet, down between the main tubular member (16) and the outside of the trap member (24), up between the trap member (24) and the inner tubular member (20), and then within the inner tubular member (20) to the water outlet (18).

摘要： A plumbing fitting for connection between a drain pipe and a waste outlet assembly, the waste outlet assembly having an assembly inlet connected to a waste outlet, an elongate body extending below the waste outlet and an assembly- outlet arranged at a bottom portion of the body, wherein the assembly inlet and assembly outlet are in fluid communication, the plumbing fitting including: a fitting body defining a fluid passage between a fitting inlet and a fitting outlet, the fitting inlet being adapted to be attached to the assembly outlet and the fitting outlet being adapted to be connected to the drain pipe, such that, in use, a fluid path is provided between the waste outlet and the fitting outlet; wherein the fitting body is structured so that, when the fitting inlet is attached to the assembly outlet, a riser portion of the fitting body, defining part of the fluid passage, extends substantially alongside the outside of the elongate body and above the fitting inlet, thereby operatively forming a water trap in the fluid passage. Also disclosed is a method of providing a water or liquid trap between a waste water outlet and a drain pipe; the method including the formation of a body of water retained partly in a first plumbing fitting and partly in a second plumbing fitting connected to the first plumbing fitting; wherein an outlet of the second pluitibing fitting is located substantially above the connection between the first plumbing fitting and the second plumbing fitting; wherein the outlet of the second plumbing fitting is located substantially above the level of the connection between the first and second plumbing fittings.

摘要： A waste outlet fitting (10) is provided for connection between a waste outlet (12) and a drain pipe. The fitting (10) includes a main tubular member (16) having an open top end, adapted to be attached to the waste outlet (12) and act as a water inlet for the fitting (10). The fitting (10) further includes a water outlet (18), located at a side wall of the main tubular member (16) and adapted to be connected to the drain pipe. The main tubular member (16) includes a dividing wall (24) arranged within the main tubular member (16). The dividing wall (24) extends along a substantial length of the main tubular member (16) and terminates with a bottom portion above a base portion (26) of the main tubular member (16). In this arrangement, a space is provided between the bottom portion and the base portion (26) of the main tubular member. The dividing wall (24) defines a water passage from the water inlet , down one side of the dividing wall (24) to the base portion (26) and then from the base portion (26) up the other side of the dividing wall (24) to the water outlet (18). Effectively, a water trap is formed in the water passage between the water inlet and the water outlet (18). Additionally, the base portion (26) is adapted to be removable from the main tubular member (16), in order to empty the water trap and provide access within the main tubular member (16) while the main tubular member (16) remains attached to the waste outlet (12).

摘要： There are described methods and apparatus for assessing foams generated from liquids. Existing methods are slow and labour intensive. The new methods involve generating foams from liquids and optically obtaining information to enable parameters relating to the generated foam to be measured. Although single samples of liquids may be processed the methods are particularly suited to processing multiple samples to obtain data relating to foams at a high rate. The apparatus includes automated handling equipment to enable samples to be moved between workstations and relative to associated optical equipment that is used to obtain information relating to the foams.

摘要： Apparatus and methods of mixing and dispensing small samples are described. Samples may be mixed in a small vessel (12) which is* provided with an impeller (20) located at or adjacent its base (14) and driven by a shaft (22) extending through the base. Mounted for rotation within the vessel, either with the impeller or independently thereof, is an agitator means such as a helical spring (28) which is compressible towards the impeller under applied load. Samples may be dispensed from the vessel using a piston member (40) having a through passage (44). The piston member is insertable into the vessel to force the sample therefrom through the passage.
